一《割書：私儀｜》往古より代々相続き火消御道具一切《割書：并｜》田畑為養育
井戸其外低き地より高地面《割書：え｜》水操揚都に水弾道具一式
家業に仕来候尤外万？之？次細工仕入物とは相違ひ第一木性ゟ相撰
金物も薄き物の不用上部に仕元来細工之儀は飽まて入□□
奉差上候依之御意に相叶
御公御用諸国御大名様方或は寺社伽藍所
又は町々■大家方何れも様ゟも御用被為　
仰付御蔭を以家業　冥利に相叶広大
難有奉存候
依之猶亦此度新製
工夫仕是迄有来之竜吐水は
御存知之通水弾方之儀少し

現代語訳

私儀、往古より代々受け継ぎ、火消し御道具一切、並びに田畑の養育のための井戸、その他低い地から高い地へ水を操り揚げる、すなわち水を弾く道具一式を家業として仕来たりました。もとより他の細工仕入れ物とは異なり、第一に木材の性質から厳選し、金物も薄いものは用いず上等なものを使い、元来、細工の儀は飽くまで丁寧に仕上げ、差し上げるものでございます。それゆえ、御意に叶い、御公儀の御用、諸国の御大名様方、あるいは寺社伽藍、また町々の大家方、いずれの方々からも御用をお申し付けいただき、お陰をもちまして家業冥利に叶い、広大なるご恩を有難く存じ奉っております。

これにより、なおまた此度、新たに工夫を凝らして製作いたしました。これまでの竜吐水は御存知の通り、水を弾く方の儀が少し不十分でございましたので、何卒途切れることなく弾けますよう、多年の心掛けをもって細工仕り、すなわち「登竜水」と名付け、これを一挺として立派な仕上がりとなし、水勢大いに激しく弾け、御用に相成りますので、水勢をお試しの上、何卒御用をお申し付けくださいますよう、ひとえにお願い申し上げます。以上。

英語訳

I humbly state that, from ancient times, our family has carried on through generations the trade of manufacturing all manner of firefighting equipment, as well as devices used for agricultural irrigation — specifically, tools for drawing water from lower ground to higher ground, that is, water-pumping apparatus of all kinds. Unlike other manufactured goods, we select only the finest wood by its very nature and use only thick, high-quality metal fittings, never inferior thin ones. Our craftsmanship has always been executed with the utmost care and dedication before being presented to our customers.

By virtue of this devotion, we have been fortunate enough to receive orders from the official authorities (the bakufu), from daimyo lords throughout the provinces, from temples and shrines, and from major households in various towns. Through their gracious patronage, we have found our trade to be truly fulfilling, and we are deeply and humbly grateful for this immense honor.

Now, on this occasion, we have newly devised and manufactured an improved device. As is well known, the previous model of the ryūdosui (dragon water-spitter pump) had a slight deficiency in its water-projecting function. After many years of dedicated effort and craftsmanship aimed at achieving a continuous and uninterrupted stream of water, we have completed this new device, which we have named the "Tōryūsui" (Ascending Dragon Water). As a single unit, it achieves outstanding performance, projecting water with great force and intensity, making it highly suitable for practical use. We earnestly and humbly request that you first test the water pressure for yourself, and thereafter graciously grant us the honor of your order.
