[Right folio]
The stipend was reduced by 2 bu, leaving 6 ryō 2 bu and 3 person-portions (ninshibuchi), and he was assigned to the Tozama-gumitsuki (outer retainer unit). During the period in which he was not assigned regular duties so that he could train in the martial arts, he was ordered to submit the ko-fushin-ryō (allowance for unassigned retainers).
Note: He was to remain in the Ichinose Kenmon unit.
1. In the intercalary 11th month of Bunka 10 (1813, Year of the Boar), in accordance with precedent, he was assigned to the Ichi-no-ko-fushin-gumi (First Unassigned Retainer Group) and placed under the supervision of the Gakkō Bugyō (School Magistrate).
2. In the 9th month of the same 11th year (1814, Year of the Dog), as it was reported that he had devoted himself diligently to the martial arts and had attained an exceptionally high level of skill, his ko-fushin-ryō (unassigned retainer allowance) was waived, and he was transferred into the unit of Naitō Sukenemon to serve as an Oshiro Goban (castle guard).
[Left folio]
3. In the same month, as it was reported that he had devoted himself diligently to archery and that his skill was remarkable for his age, he was awarded two sets of target arrows (mato-ya) as a mark of commendation.
4. In the 4th month of the same 14th year (1817, Year of the Ox), since he had been performing the duties of assistant instructor (tetsudai) for the Reishiki-kata Shinan-yaku (instructor in ceremonial etiquette) with great diligence, he was exempted from the Oshiro Go-iryaku Chakutō (attendance register duty at the castle).
5. In the same year, he was appointed Okoshō (page/attendant to the lord), and awarded a stipend of 1 ryō 2 bu and 1 person-portion as an office allowance (oyaku-ryō).
6. In the same month, it was proclaimed that he had devoted himself diligently to training drills during his previous duties.
