現代語訳

珍鳥

　寛政二年夏に舶来した大黒
　ツグミのような円い黒い点
　翼腹および尾の裏は白く、その他
　全身は黒い。声は清らかで、頬白の音
　のようである。澄んでいてユクユク
　とする。目白の音もある。スル
　ウウリイナと（鳴く）

英語訳

Rare Bird

　A large black (bird) that arrived by ship in the summer of Kansei 2
　Round black spots like a thrush
　Wing belly and underside of tail are white, the rest
　of the entire body is black. Its voice is clear, like the sound of a white-cheeked bird
　It is pure and goes "yuku-yuku"
　It also has sounds like a white-eye. (It cries) "suru-uu-rii-na"
