外桜田の外上杉前方面で二十間余りから三十間程度の二か所で松の木も倒れた。この松も同様に全て切り取ることになった。右の屋敷前から板橋越しにかけて桜田内の土手を切り抜いて積み直した。この場所は御曲輪の石垣で一番の破損であった。長州前方面で二十間程度、馬場先御門外の左右三か所、八代洲川岸通りの御堀石垣が崩れ、孕みが多い。
神田橋外庄内後、一ッ橋外御館後口、御数寄屋後、呉服橋外右大工町河岸の火の見の向かい、銭瓶橋角大番所後、その外田安外回り、半蔵門冠木際、鍛冶橋外、厄人橋の向かいの御堀端石垣も崩れ孕みが甚だしい。

十一月二十二日夜九時過ぎの地震で御城の所々が大破損し倒壊、あるいは御多門が潰れ、あるいは壁が落ち、御堀回りが崩れ、諸々の屋敷、近国ともに破損した。同夜からしばらくの間もなく毎日度々地震があり、右の人々は居宅を出て外に葭簀張りならびに板囲いなどをして寒さを凌いで居る者が多い。この節、甲府様桜田御屋敷の御長屋が潰れ出火した。

In the area outside Sotsakurada, in front of the Uesugi residence, pine trees fell in two locations spanning twenty to thirty ken. These fallen pines were all cut down and removed. From in front of the mentioned residence to the Itabashi area, the earthworks inside Sakurada were cut through and rebuilt. This location suffered the most severe damage to the stone walls of the outer bailey. Damage extended about twenty ken in front of the Chōshū residence, three locations on the left and right outside Babasaki Gate, and extensive collapse and bulging of the moat stone walls along Yashiro-gawa riverside.
Stone walls also extensively collapsed and bulged at: outside Kanda Bridge behind Shōnai quarters, outside Hitotsubashi behind the lord's residence, behind the tea ceremony quarters, in front of the fire watchtower on the right side of Daiku-machi riverside outside Gofuku Bridge, behind the guard station at Zenigame Bridge corner, around the outer perimeter of Tayasu, near the gateway pillars of Hanzōmon, outside Kajibashi, and along the moat embankment facing Yakunnin Bridge.

On the night of November 22nd, after 9 o'clock, an earthquake caused major damage and collapse throughout the castle - some turret gates collapsed, walls fell, moat perimeters crumbled, and various residences in nearby provinces were damaged. From that same night, frequent earthquakes continued daily for some time, causing many people to leave their homes and endure the cold outside in makeshift shelters of reed screens and board enclosures. During this period, the long houses of Lord Kōfu's Sakurada residence collapsed and caught fire.
