【巻下一丁裏】
うへに六尺五寸をかくれは廿三丈一寸になる
又左によこ十八間四尺と置（をき）て一けんよりかみへ
六五をかくれは十二丈一尺となる これを右の
廿三丈一寸にかくれは一丈の坪弐百七十八坪
四分二り壱毛となるなり これを一坪の法
四二二五にてわれは六百五拾八坪九分八りと
しるゝ也 これを田の法三にてわれは二／反（たん）一畝
廿八歩九分八りとしるへし
一 同右のことく田長卅五間二尺六寸有時尺より
したの二尺六寸を六五にてわれは卅五間四と

現代語訳
上に六尺五寸を掛けると二十三丈一寸になる。
また左に横十八間四尺と置いて、一間より上に
六五（六・五）を掛けると十二丈一尺となる。これを右の
二十三丈一寸に掛けると、一丈の坪で二百七十八坪
四分二厘一毛となる。これを一坪の法
四二二五で割ると六百五十八坪九分八厘と
分かる。これを田の法三で割ると二反一畝
二十八歩九分八厘と知るべきである。
一 同じく右のように田の長さが三十五間二尺六寸ある時、尺より
下の二尺六寸を六五で割ると三十五間四と
なる。また横十八間四尺ある。四尺ばかりを六五で
割ると十八間六になる。また一寸余りあるのは
捨て払うのである。長さと横を左右に置いて掛けると
六百五十八坪四分四厘となるという。
少し右のと違いがあるが、このようにして置いて
良い。見合わせて勘用である。一間より内に
尺寸があるのは六五で割って、少し残りがあるのは捨てて
良い。また少し足らなくても加え入れて置く。
事により時により、いずれも見合わせて勘用
するべきである。

Multiply by 6 shaku 5 sun above to get 23 jo 1 sun.

by 6.5 (roku-go) above 1 ken to get 12 jo 1 shaku. Multiply this by
23 jo 1 sun on the right to get 278 tsubo
4 fun 2 rin 1 mo in jo-based tsubo. Divide this by the tsubo conversion factor
4225 to get 658 tsubo 9 fun 8 rin.
Divide this by the field conversion factor of 3 to get 2 tan 1 se
28 bu 9 fun 8 rin.
1. Similarly, as on the right, when a field has a length of 35 ken 2 shaku 6 sun,
divide the 2 shaku 6 sun below the ken unit by 65 to get 35 ken 4.
Also, there are 18 ken 4 shaku in width. Divide the approximately 4 shaku by 65
to get 18 ken 6. Any remainder of about 1 sun should be
discarded. Place length and width side by side and multiply to get
658 tsubo 4 fun 4 rin.
Although there is a slight difference from the calculation on the right, it is
acceptable to calculate this way. This requires careful consideration and judgment. When there are
shaku and sun within a ken,divide by 65, and any small remainder should be discarded
as acceptable. Even if slightly insufficient, add it in.
Depending on circumstances and timing, all should be handled with
careful consideration and judgment.
