[宝相花（ほうそうか）]
薔薇（しょうび）に類する花で、花が大きい。大白（白色の大きな花）や大紅（紅色の大きな花）があり、千弁（八重咲き）の二種類がある。
長春花（ちょうしゅんか）より花も葉も大きく、三～四月に咲く。俗に「長いばら」という。牛勒（きゅうろく）、別名は牛棘（きゅうきょく）、また別名は刺紅（しこう）という。山中の大木の根に生える。また谷や岩の上から垂れ下がって生えたり、岸や山の原から垂れ下がって生えることもある。また長春花より葉の小さいものもある。

[外浜（そとはま）すかし百合（ゆり）]
花は普通のすかし百合に似ていて、色は萱草（かんぞう）に似ているが、星形の模様はない。中心部は先がとんぼの頭のような形で、六本の筋がある。雄しべの先に紫色の米粒のようなものがある。また葉は普通の百合より細長い。三～四月に花が咲き、丈は三尺ほど。

[為朝（ためとも）百合（ゆり）]
花の色は白く鹿の子模様があり、紫黒色で、中心部はとんぼの頭のような形をしている。飛び色（茶色）の雄しべも同じく、葉は鹿の子百合に似ている。花弁の中に少し黄色があり、そこに少し緑色がある。全体的に鹿の子百合に似ているが、鬼百合より太くたくましい。四月中に花が咲き、または五～六月まで咲く。丈は四～五尺ほどで、茎は太く色は黒っぽい青色。花の大きさは七～八寸余りある。

[芥子（けし）・罌粟（えいぞく）・罌子粟]
花弁は四枚で、色は大紅、大白、紫がある。一重、八重、千弁（多重）がある。葉は苦菜（にがな）のようで、丈は三～四尺ほど。葉の切れ込みが深い。四月に花が咲く。麗夏花（れいかか）ともいう。また台（花托）に二枚の葉があり、花が開くと落ちる。

[麗春花（れいしゅんか）・花鶯粟（かおうぞく）]
俗にいう美人草（びじんそう）。形は芥子に似ているが小さく、花弁は同じく四枚。色は白、大紅、紫がある。一重もあり、また八重もあり、千葉（多重）もある。春の三月に花が咲く。葉は芥子の葉に似ているが短く、花のつぼみ、葉、茎ともに毛がある。台（花托）は同じで、花が開くにしたがって台が落ちる。

鶯粟は八月のうちに種を蒔くとよく育つ。疎らに蒔いて盛んに育てる。実を収穫して腐葉土を作るとよい。また五色千葉（多彩で多重咲き）のものもある。もっとも愛でるべきものである。

[Hōsōka (Treasure-aspect flower)]
A flower similar to roses, with large blooms. There are large white and large red varieties, and two types of thousand-petal (double-flowered) forms.
The flowers and leaves are larger than those of chōshunka (ever-spring flower), blooming in March-April. Commonly called "long rose." Also known as kyūroku, alternatively called kyūkyoku, or another name shikou (thorn-red). It grows at the roots of large trees in mountains. It also grows hanging down from valley rocks, or drooping from riverbanks and mountain fields. There are also varieties with smaller leaves than chōshunka.

[Sotohama transparent lily]
The flower resembles ordinary transparent lilies, with color similar to daylilies but without star patterns. The center has a dragonfly-head shape with six streaks. The stamen tips have purple rice-grain-like structures. The leaves are more slender than ordinary lilies. Flowers bloom in March-April, growing about three feet tall.

[Tametomo lily]
The flower is white with fawn-spot patterns, purple-black, with a dragonfly-head-shaped center. The brown-colored stamens are similar, and leaves resemble fawn-spot lilies. There is some yellow in the petals with a bit of green there. Overall similar to fawn-spot lilies but thicker and more robust than devil lilies. Flowers bloom in mid-April or until May-June. About four to five feet tall, with thick stems of blackish-blue color. Flowers are seven to eight inches across.

white, and white spirea is also the same. Leaves resemble those of small viburnum, with serrated edges and soft texture. Similar to bamboo-grass wisteria and hakama, with thin stems. It is herbaceous. One of three varieties. Flowers bloom from March-April through June-July. Chinese name is senshūkiku (thread-embroidery chrysanthemum).

[Poppy - eizoku - eishizoku]
Four petals, with colors including large red, large white, and purple. Single, double, and thousand-petal (multiple) varieties exist. Leaves resemble bitter herbs, growing three to four feet tall. Leaves are deeply incised. Flowers bloom in April. Also called reikaka (beautiful summer flower). The receptacle has two leaves that fall when the flower opens.

[Reishunka (beautiful spring flower) - kaōzoku (flower warbler poppy)]
Commonly called bijinsō (beauty grass). Shape resembles poppy but smaller, with the same four petals. Colors include white, large red, and purple. Single varieties exist, as well as double and thousand-leaf (multiple) forms. Flowers bloom in spring, in March. Leaves resemble poppy leaves but are shorter, and the flower buds, leaves, and stems all have hair. The receptacle is the same, falling as the flower opens.

Warbler poppy should be sown in August for good growth. Sow sparsely and cultivate vigorously. Harvest the seeds to make good compost. There are also five-colored thousand-leaf (multicolored, multiple-flowered) varieties. These are most worthy of admiration.
