文は道を貫くの器画は形を伝ふるの具
しかれとも文の拙き豈道を貫に無耶画
のつたなきもとより形を伝ふへからず乕を
画きて狗に類することき是なり北斎か万
物を画かける皆其形を伝ふるものにして
三歳の童子もこれを見て其物をしるこは

文は道を貫く器であり、画は形を伝える道具である。
しかしながら、文章が拙劣であれば、どうして道を貫くことができようか。絵が
つたないのは、もとより形を伝えることはできない。虎を
描いて犬に似てしまうようなことがこれである。北斎が
万物を描くのは、皆その形を伝えるものであって、
三歳の幼児でもこれを見てその物が何かを知ることは
