一、二月一日、大目付・水野対馬守（忠仲）殿より連絡があり、御留守居・大谷一右衛門（良次）が出向いたところ、老中招請の件について以下の通り口頭にてお達しがあった。
老中方を招請する大名衆が、その際に（屋敷の）勝手口へお越しになる面々の供廻りが門前に集まっており、老中方がお帰りになる時、およびお相伴の面々がお帰りになる際に、勝手口へ回った者たちも一緒に退散するよう、供の者どもが心得て門際へ寄るため混み合ってしまう。そもそも勝手口は二段（二列）に立つことになっているので、その趣旨をあらかじめ勝手口へ越される面々の家来たちへ申し付けておき、二段に立つことを十分に心得させた上で、老中方がお帰りの節に門前へ集まり寄らないよう申し付けるべきこと。
一、同月四日、翌五日に老中を招請されることにつき、ご案内のため老中へは御家老・本多民部（道好）を使者として、若年寄中へは御奏者番・大道寺孫九郎（繁郷）を使者として差し出された。
一、同月五日、将軍宣下が済んだことの祝儀として、老中を招請し、饗応の能を仰せ付けられた。
一、同月八日、御判物御用掛・秋元摂津守（凉朝）殿より、御留守居へ以下の通り連名の御切紙（書状）が届いた。

Item: On the first day of the second month, a message arrived from the Senior Inspector (Ōmetsuke) Mizuno Tsushima-no-Kami (Tadanaka), and the Resident Administrator (Rusuī) Ōtani Ichiemon (Yoshitsugu) attended, whereupon the following oral instructions were given regarding the matter of inviting the Senior Councilors (Rōjū):
When the daimyō who invite the Senior Councilors have their attendants gathered at the gate while those who proceed to the service entrance [of the Senior Councilor's residence] wait, upon the Senior Councilors' departure and when those who accompanied them also depart, the attendants of those who had gone to the service entrance likewise try to disperse together, crowding near the gate. Since the service entrance area is fundamentally arranged in two tiers (two rows), the retainers of those who are to proceed to the service entrance should be instructed in advance to stand in two tiers, to be thoroughly familiarized with this arrangement, and to be instructed not to crowd and gather at the gate when the Senior Councilors depart.
Item: On the fourth day of the same month, as the Senior Councilors were to be invited on the following fifth day, the Senior House Elder (Karō) Honda Mimbu (Michiyoshi) was dispatched as a messenger to the Senior Councilors to give notice, and the Presenter (Sōjaban) Daidōji Magokurō (Shigesato) was dispatched as a messenger to the Junior Councilors (Wakadoshiyori).
Item: On the fifth day of the same month, to celebrate the completion of the Shogunal Proclamation Ceremony (Seiitaishōgun Senge), the Senior Councilors were invited and treated to a banquet with a Nō performance, as ordered.
Item: On the eighth day of the same month, a joint letter (kirigami) arrived from the Official in Charge of Domain Documents (Go-hanmotsu goyōgakari) Akimoto Settsu-no-Kami (Ryōtomo) to the Resident Administrator, as follows:
