かけいはひ事もかくやと刻限に
花つみとて道俗男女てにはなをちら
しひちにあしかをかけくちに弥陀
仏の名をとなえていくらといふことを
しらすむれつゝきてまことになりたか
くのゝしりゆく内證の御ちかひも
たのもしくこそ空や上人無極道心
をあらはされむとてわたりそめられたり
けるそこれかはしめに申つたへたる
看督長ねりつゝきたり大理のつか
はれ人はわしの羽のやを二さしたり
廷尉佐のはしろき羽を四さすその

花摘みとて道俗男女手に花を散らし
額に阿字を掛け口に弥陀
仏の名を唱えていくらということを
知らず群れ続きて誠に鳴り響く
騒がしく行く内証の御誓いも
頼もしくこそ 空也上人無極の道心を
現されようとて渡り初められた
けるそ これが始めに申し伝えたる
監督長練り続き来たり 大理の遣わ
れ人は鷲の羽の矢を二差したり
廷尉佐のは白き羽を四差すその

In which, things are renewed twice like the camellia's
celebration - is this how it is? At the appointed time,
calling it flower-picking, monks and laypeople, men and women, scatter flowers with their hands,
hang the sacred character "A" on their foreheads, and chant the name of Amida
Buddha in their mouths, not knowing how many there are,
they continue in groups, truly resounding noisily as they go. The inner vow is also
most reassuring. The priest Kūya, manifesting his boundless devotion to the Way,
began to cross over.
This is what has been passed down from the beginning:
The chief supervisor continues in procession, and the officials sent by the Court of Justice
carry two arrows with eagle feathers,
while those of the Assistant Minister of Justice carry four with white feathers...
