　　当府官員提灯之印并出火其外非常
　　出張之節　肩或ハ帽ニ付し候当府目標　　
　　別紙雛形之通ニ付紛ハ敷印相用ひ

　　右之趣管内無レ洩相達るもの也

現代語訳

申第二百十九号（朱書き：「六月二十五日御布令」）

当府の官員が提灯の印、および出火その他の非常事態において出張する際に、肩または帽子に付ける当府の目標（標識）については、別紙の雛形の通りであるため、紛らわしい印を使用してはならない。

右の趣旨を、管内漏れなく伝達するものである。

Petition No. 219 (Written in red ink: "Ordinance issued on the 25th day of the 6th month")

Regarding the insignia to be affixed to the shoulders or caps of officials of this prefecture when carrying lanterns bearing the prefecture's mark, or when dispatched during fires or other emergencies: as the design is specified in the attached template, no insignia that may be confused with it shall be used.

The above is hereby communicated to all within the jurisdiction, without exception.
