太 断絶切腹ヲト 木 朝鮮之事いろ〳〵云う
主人之心得違ひヲ泣々異見ヲ頼ミ
木戸は善 太山は悪
兵 太山之折之肴ヲ妙術ヲ以テ不残密ニ取
両人は折ヲ家来ニ齋し □□ヲ附にしう事
太山別レ帰候処ヲ 講中ニ投込
臣 音は致セシガ姿は見へズト太山ヲ引揚
狸じやト ナニ馬鹿ナ忍術家之仕業也
忍術家も大勢有ル故ニ何者共知らズ
立戻 折ヲ肴ヲ以テ呑直シト 紙屑ニ消炭之
哀□狸ト云う 兵蔵立返テ芥田ニ物語
太閤は清正之義ヲ内々御尋
皆々申立ルニ無相違 五奉行 断絶切腹ト言上
太 無是非申附候ヘト云う

目附中西惣太夫ニ云附 廿四人道〻いろ〳〵云う
否ヤ申バ首ヲ取テ立返りは無理じや 吾之弱？シト云
鰻之アタマナラ スツホンナラ六ヶ舗ト云乍行

斉藤出迎ひ 大書院ニ通ス 斉 主人病氣ト
現代語訳
太閤は「断絶・切腹を」と言い、木戸は「朝鮮の件についていろいろ言うが、主人（小西行長）の心得違いを」と泣きながら異見を頼んだ。
木戸は善人、太山は悪人である。
兵蔵は太山の持参した折（弁当）の肴を妙術を使って残らず密かに取り、
両人は折を家来に食べさせ、毒見をさせようとした。
太山が別れて帰る途中、講中（集団）に投げ込まれ、
家臣は「音はしたが姿は見えず」と太山を引き上げた。
「狸だ」と言うと、「何を馬鹿な、忍術家の仕業だ。
忍術家も大勢いるので、何者とも分からない」
立ち戻って、折の肴で飲み直していると、紙屑に消し炭の…
「哀れ、狸だ」と言う。兵蔵は立ち返って芥田（加藤清正）に物語した。
太閤は清正の件を内々でお尋ねになり、
皆々が申し立てることに相違なく、五奉行は「断絶・切腹」と言上した。
太閤は「やむを得ない、申し付けよ」と言った。
石田三成は上使を古田織部正に、
目付を中西惣太夫に言い付けた。二十四人の道中でいろいろ言うには、
「否と申せば首を取って立ち返るのは無理だ。我らの弱腰だ」と言い、
「鰻の頭なら、すっぽんなら六ヶ所」と言いながら行く。
御上使は散財の音がいろいろと聞こえる。
斎藤が出迎えて大書院に通す。斎藤は「主人は病気で」と言った。
英語訳
The Taiko (Toyotomi Hideyoshi) said "dissolution and seppuku," while Kido said "regarding the Korean matter, there are various things to say, but my master's (Konishi Yukinaga's) misunderstanding..." and tearfully requested advice.
Kido was good, Taiyama was evil.
Hyōzō used mysterious arts to secretly take all the side dishes from Taiyama's lunch box,
and both men had their retainers eat the lunch box, trying to have them taste for poison.
As Taiyama was leaving and returning home, he was thrown into a group,
and a retainer said "there was a sound but no figure could be seen" and pulled Taiyama up.
When someone said "it's a tanuki (raccoon dog)," another replied "Don't be foolish, it's the work of a ninja.
There are many ninja, so we don't know who it was."
They returned and resumed drinking with the side dishes from the lunch box, when paper scraps and charcoal...
"Alas, a tanuki," they said. Hyōzō returned and told the story to Akeda (Katō Kiyomasa).
The Taiko privately inquired about Kiyomasa's matter,
and since everyone's statements were consistent, the Five Commissioners reported "dissolution and seppuku."
The Taiko said "It cannot be helped, proceed with the order."
Ishida Mitsunari appointed Furuta Oribe-shō as the imperial messenger,
and assigned Nakanishi Sōtayū as inspector. Among the twenty-four men on the journey, they said various things:
"If we refuse, taking heads and returning would be unreasonable. It shows our weakness."
They proceeded saying "If it's an eel's head, if it's a soft-shell turtle, then six places."
Various sounds of expenditure could be heard from the imperial messenger's party.
Saitō came out to greet them and led them to the main reception hall. Saitō said "My master is ill."
