今度京都大事出来日野西中納言屋敷致
類焼候借宅不自由ニ而可罷在所無之難儀仕

一 三月十六日、今度立坊立后の宣下が相済んだことを祝して、使者山名次郎右衛門重貞を江戸表に派遣し、今日福井を出立した。
一 同月二十一日、先達って日野西中納言国豊殿の屋敷が類焼したことに付き、梅姫様を国元表へお引き取りになりたい旨を老中へ伺った件について、大岡治右衛門忠久殿まで申し遣わし、左の通りの願書を指し遣わした。
覚
今度京都の大火により日野西中納言屋敷が類焼し、借宅も不自由で居住する所もなく難儀している状況である。これにより中納言の娘の祝言が調うまで在所へ引き取っておきたく願い存じ上げる。以上

一 四月二日、老中土屋相模守政直殿からお呼び出しがあり、留守居村上三大夫正峯が参上したところ、梅姫様の国許へのお引き取りの件について、願いの通り仰せ出された旨を申し渡された。
一 同月九日、板橋駅から着府。【異筆書き込み】着府直後に挨拶のため老中方等を回勤するのが慣例であるが、この時はそれがなかったのはいかがなものか。
一 同月十日、右同断につき、上使として老中大久保加賀守忠増殿がお越しになった。

March 16th: To celebrate the completion of the imperial proclamations for the Crown Prince's investiture and Empress's enthronement, an envoy, Yamana Jirōemon Shigesada, was dispatched to Edo and departed from Fukui today.
March 21st: Regarding the previous fire damage to the residence of Nishinohino Chūnagon Kunitoyo, a petition was submitted through Ōoka Jiemon Tadahisa to the rōjū (senior councillors) requesting permission to bring Princess Ume back to the home domain. The following petition was sent:
Memorandum
Due to the recent great fire in Kyoto, the residence of Nishinohino Chūnagon suffered fire damage. With temporary lodgings being inconvenient and no suitable place to reside, we are in great difficulty. Therefore, we humbly request permission to bring the Chūnagon's daughter back to our domain until her wedding arrangements are completed.

March 25th: Departed from Fukui, traveling via the Nakasendō route.
April 2nd: Summoned by Rōjū Tsuchiya Sagami-no-Kami Masanao, the caretaker Murakami Sandayū Masamine attended and was informed that the request to bring Princess Ume back to the home domain had been approved as petitioned.
April 9th: Arrived in Edo from Itabashi station. [Note in different handwriting] It was customary to immediately pay courtesy visits to the rōjū and others upon arrival in Edo, but this was not done at this time - how was this?
April 10th: Regarding the above matter, the rōjū Ōkubo Kaga-no-Kami Tadamasu came as an official envoy.
