（前頁より続き）御内陣より（御箒などを）外へ運び出し、御内陣を掃除・祓い清め、その御箒以下の道具類を外陣へ運び出す。
次に、祢宜以下が御戸の外、大床の辺りを掃き清め、階段の左右も順次掃き清める。
この間、内陣の御基盤（御神座の台）を外に運び出し、御物忌河の水でそれを濯ぎ清め、御拭いで拭って御内陣に納める。
次に、夏の神服を奉納し、冬の神服に奉替する。（これは年来の儀式であったが、今は絶えている。）
【左丁】
次に、社司たちが下臈（下位の者）から順番に退下して揖（おじぎ）をする。
次に、末社の社司たちはそれぞれの社に参り、御祓い清めを行う。（その儀式は）本宮の儀式に準ずる。
次に、五官が祝詞座に着き、祝詞を奏上する。片岡社を筆頭として（各社の）その儀式を行う。
次に（祝詞を）奏上し終えたら御戸を開け（た後）、御錠を必ず合わせる（閉める）。
次に、各自退出し、若穴社から奈良社に至るまで巡拝する。
次に、社司たちは御生所（おふどころ）に奏上する。（注記：今は五官が辰の夜に各社へ西門より参向する。）
次に、御生所に奉着し、祠官たちはそれぞれ手水所にて葵の役を務める。

(Continued from previous page) The [ritual broom and implements] are carried out from the inner sanctuary (naijin), which is then swept and purified; the broom and all other implements are then moved out to the outer sanctuary (gejin).
Next, the Negi and those below sweep and purify the area around the large floor (ōtoko) outside the door, and then proceed to sweep and purify the left and right sides of the steps in order.
During this time, the ritual base platform (mihiban) of the inner sanctuary is carried outside, rinsed and purified with water from the Omioi River (御物忌河), wiped with a ritual cloth, and then returned to the inner sanctuary.
Next, the summer divine garments (shinfuku) are offered and replaced with the winter divine garments. *(Note: This was a traditional annual rite, but is now discontinued.)*

Next, the shrine officials (shashi) retire in order, beginning with those of lower rank, each making a bow of obeisance.
Next, the shrine officials of the subsidiary shrines (massha) each proceed to their respective shrines to perform the purification rite, following the same procedure as at the main shrine.
Next, the five officials (gokан) take their seats at the norito-za (祝詞座, the seat for ritual recitation) and recite the norito (ritual prayers), beginning with the Kataoka Shrine, proceeding through each shrine in order.
Next, upon completion of the recitation, the shrine doors are opened and the locks are securely fastened (closed).
Next, all retire and make a circuit of worship from the Wakana Shrine to the Nara Shrine.
Next, the shrine officials report to the Ofudokoro (御生所, the sacred birth place/sanctuary). *(Marginal note: Currently, the five officials proceed to each shrine via the west gate on the night of the Dragon [hour].)*
Next, upon arriving at the Ofudokoro, the shrine priests each perform their duties of葵 (hollyhock/aoi) at the hand-washing station (temizujo).
