Initially, he came from Shinshū (Shinano Province) to stay with Shichirōzaemon of the same surname, but at the age of twenty-two, he was summoned to service upon the request of the aforementioned Shichirōemon.
1. Manji 3rd year (Rat year), 5th month: He was granted the standard gisaku stipend of 15 koku and provisions for 3 people, and was appointed to the koban guard unit.
2. Kanbun 3rd year (Rabbit year), 2nd month: He was granted an additional provision for one person.
3. Same 10th year (Dog year), 2nd month: He was appointed as goyūhitsu (official scribe).
4. Enpō 5th year (Snake year), intercalary 12th month: He was granted an additional 10 koku and provisions for one person.
5. Jōkyō 3rd year (Tiger year), 8th month: His previous gisaku stipend was converted to a direct fief (chigyō) of 100 koku.
6. Genroku 3rd year (Horse year), 10th month: He was appointed to gojiban (second guard duty).
Note: Although he had served in Edo guard duty several times before this, the exact dates are unclear.
7. Same 6th year (Rooster year), 11th month: He was appointed to permanent Edo duty, and in the 1st month of the following Dog year, he went up to Edo with his retainers.
