【一休末期辞世の事】
『十三』
一休和尚の末期（まつご）の句（く）とて。世の世の口にまかせける
は其 数多（かずおほ）し。是が実（じつ）也。是は不 実（じつ）なりといふも不 実（じつ）也
如何（いかん）とならば彼（かれ）も御影（ごえい）を書て。賛（さん）をもとめ。是も替（さん）
をもとむれば。其 賛（さん）には出（で）るまゝにあそばしけると也。ある
所の御影（ごえい）の賛（さん）にあそばしけるは
朦々（もう〳〵）而（として）三十 年（ねん） 淡々（たん〳〵）而（として）三十年
朦々（もう〳〵）淡々（たん〳〵）六十年 末後（まつごに）腣（ひつて）＿レ糞（くそを）捧（さゝぐ）＿二梵天（ぼんてんに）＿一
此句もあり又の語（ご）には
借用申昨月昨日（しやくやうもふすさくくはつさくじつ）
返弁申今月今日（へんべんもふすこんくわつこんくにち）
借置（かりをき）し五つのものを四つかへし
本来空にいまぞもとづく
又ある末後（まつご）とやらむにあそばしけるとて人のい

『十四』ある人一休の御寺へよしありて参りけるが。或（ある）夜（よ）沙（しや）
弥（み）小喝食達（こかつしきたち）をこまつけて。一休の御 遺言（ゆいごん）共をおがみ侍
し。一々 名誉（めいよ）を極（きは）めたる事ども也

しばらく礼拝をしてから帰ったということである。

『十三』
一休和尚の末期（臨終）の句として、世間の人々の口に膾炙されているものは、その数が非常に多い。これが真実である、これは真実ではないと言うのも真実ではない。なぜかと言えば、あの人も御影（肖像画）を描いて賛を求め、この人も賛を求めるので、その賛には思いつくままに書かれたからである。ある所の御影の賛に書かれたのは
朦々として三十年 淡々として三十年
朦々淡々六十年 末後に糞を梵天に捧ぐ
この句もあり、また別の言葉には
借用申し上げる昨月昨日
返弁申し上げる今月今日
借り置いた五つのものを四つ返し
本来空に今ぞ基づく
また、ある末期の言葉とやらに書かれたとして人が言うには
生也死也 死也生也
柳は緑、花は紅

柳緑ならず花紅ならず 御用心々々一休筆題

『十四』ある人が一休の御寺へ用事があって参ったが、ある夜、沙弥や小喝食たちを呼び集めて、一休の御遺言の品々を拝見した。一つ一つ名誉を極めた事柄ばかりであった。

『Thirteen』

Obscurely for thirty years, plainly for thirty years
Obscurely and plainly for sixty years

Now I return to the original emptiness
