駿州（すんしう）富士（ふじ）山中にあり茎（くき）蔓（つる）の如く
根白色にして硬（かた）く味（あじはひ）深し淡黄（うすき）の
花を開（ひら）き角（かく）を結ぶ一種／藤花（むらさきのはな）の
物あり苗根（なへもねも）みな小なり二種ともに

フジオウギ
駿河国の富士山中に生育している。茎は蔓のようで、
根は白色で硬く、味は濃い。淡黄色の
花を咲かせ、莢を結ぶ。一種で紫色の花を咲かせる
ものがあり、苗も根もすべて小さい。二種ともに
木黄耆（もくおうぎ）で、下品（品質の劣るもの）である。

Fuji Astragalus (Fuji-ōgi)
Found in Mount Fuji in Suruga Province. The stem is vine-like,
and the root is white and hard with a deep taste. It produces
pale yellow flowers and forms pods. There is one variety that
produces purple flowers, and both the seedlings and roots are small.
Both types are woody astragalus (moku-ōgi) and are of inferior grade.
