一、大阪より四国路、中国筋、九州の辺は四日、五日より八日まで五日の間、日々地震が止まず申し候。また尾州宮宿内大いに損じ、浜手二十三軒潰れ、御役所潰れ、亀崎・半田大津波、津島・名古屋・清須の辺、少々の損じは数知れず。伊勢桑名御城・御城下共に大いに損じ、長島辺四ヶ市潰れ家四十三軒、浜手は大津波、庄野・石薬師辺は地割れ潰れ家多し。亀山御城損じ、町家大いに崩るる。神戸・白子辺少々、津の御城・町々共に大いに損じ、浜手大津波。山田の町は家蔵大いに損じ、恐れ多くも両御宮は御別条なし。田丸御城下、八鬼山越大いに崩れ往来止まる。紀州田辺御城下辺、新宮御城下辺、熊野辺、惣名・九十九浦・黒江・日方・藤代、大津波にて床より三尺ばかり潮上がる。同広浦七分ほど流失いたし候。また河原・箕島・由良の湊流失いたし、大崎・有田・日野・加太・日高辺大いに損じ。泉州岸和田大いに損じ、堺の町は大阪同様に大損じ。摂州高槻御城下辺、八幡・山崎辺、淀の御城下、伏見町々、京都洛中洛外、山城・大和・河内、少々の崩れはその数知れず。

Record of Places Affected by the Great Earthquake and Great Tsunami

One: From Osaka to the Shikoku road, Chugoku region, and Kyushu area, earthquakes continued daily without cease for five days from the 4th and 5th to the 8th day. In Owari Province's Miya-juku, there was great damage with 23 buildings collapsed along the coast, the government office collapsed, great tsunamis at Kamezaki and Handa, and countless minor damages around Tsushima, Nagoya, and Kiyosu. In Ise, both Kuwana Castle and its castle town suffered great damage. Around Nagashima, 43 houses collapsed in four markets, the coastal area was hit by great tsunamis, and around Shono and Ishiyakushi there were many collapsed houses due to ground fissures. Kameyama Castle was damaged and many townhouses collapsed severely. There was some damage around Kambe and Shiroko, great damage to Tsu Castle and its towns with great tsunamis along the coast. In Yamada town, houses and storehouses suffered great damage, but reverently, both Grand Shrines had no particular damage. Around Tamaru castle town, the Yaki-yama pass collapsed greatly, blocking traffic. Around Kii Province's Tanabe castle town, around Shingu castle town, around Kumano, at Sōmyō, Tsukumo-ura, Kuroe, Hikata, and Fujishiro, great tsunamis caused tides to rise about three feet above floor level. The same Hiro-ura suffered about 70% destruction and loss. Also, Kawahara, Minoshima, and Yura port were washed away, and there was great damage around Ōsaki, Arida, Hino, Kada, and Hidaka. In Izumi Province, Kishiwada suffered great damage, and Sakai town had great damage similar to Osaka. Around Settsu Province's Takatsuki castle town, around Yawata and Yamazaki, Yodo castle town, Fushimi towns, Kyoto's inner and outer areas, Yamashiro, Yamato, and Kawachi provinces had countless minor collapses.

One: Echizen Province's Fukui castle town suffered great damage, as did around Tsuruga, and around Tanba Kameyama. Throughout the Shikoku road, Awa Province's Tokushima castle town suffered great damage, and additionally there were fires with great damage around the Five Hundred Rakan. Tosa Province had great tsunamis, Awaji Island had great tsunamis, around Marugame castle town, and Takamatsu castle town suffered great damage. Iyo Province had great earthquakes, around Settsu Province's Sanda castle town, Ikeda and Itami, Harima Province's Akashi castle town suffered great damage, around Himeji and Akō. Around Bizen Province's Tanokuchi and Shimomura, Bitchu Province's Kurashiki and Tamashima, Bingo Province's Onomichi, Tomo, around Fukuyama castle town, around Mihara castle town, Aki Province's Hiroshima and Miyajima. Suō and Nagato provinces, around Buzen Province's Kokura castle town, around Tsurusaki had many collapsed houses. In Bungo Province, about 400 houses collapsed around Funai castle town, 234 houses collapsed at Beppu magistrate's office, and at Tsurusaki. In Kumamoto domain territory there were great earthquakes and great tsunamis, the Hyūga Sea had abnormal tidal movements and the ocean was greatly turbulent. In Hizen and Higo provinces, Nagasaki had 400 collapsed houses, and the Chinese quarter and Dutch quarter suffered great damage. This is recorded here as it is an unprecedented occurrence since ancient times.
