義此節水内郡赤沼村辺災害村々廻村中之処川筋ハ

崩川筋押埋候二付追々数十丈之水湛居候処去十三
日夕七ッ時頃一時二押破川中嶋一円二水押入更科郡
之内今里村中氷鉋村ハ田畑并民家押流或ハ泥水民家
江押入候得共囲籾用立申間敷其外村々人家押流し
候程二無御座候得共田畑一円二水冠申候翌十四日暁二至
り追々水引二相成候得共俄之大水故人馬溺死も可有之
其上多分亡所損地等も出来可申と在所役人共より申
越候委細之儀ハ追而可申上候得共先此段御届申上候

伊賀守領分信濃国で先月二十四日夜の地震の件について、先達て先にお届け申し上げておりましたが、その際に犀川上流にて大規模な山崩れが起こり川筋を押し埋めたため、追々数十丈の水が湛えられていたところ、去る十三日夕七つ時頃に一時に押し破れ、川中島一帯に水が押し入り、更科郡内の今里村・中氷鉋村では田畑および民家が押し流され、あるいは泥水が民家に押し入りました。しかし囲い籾は用に立たないでしょう。その外の村々では人家が押し流される程ではありませんでしたが、田畑一面に水が覆いました。翌十四日の暁に至り追々水が引くようになりましたが、急な大水のため人馬の溺死もあり得ると思われ、その上多大な亡失地・損傷地等も発生すると思われると在所の役人達から申し越してきました。詳細については追って申し上げますが、まずこの段をお届け申し上げます。

Regarding the earthquake that occurred on the night of the 24th of last month in Shinano Province, territory of Iga-no-kami, we had previously reported this matter. At that time, a massive landslide occurred upstream on the Sai River, blocking the river course, and water had been accumulating to a depth of several tens of jō. On the evening of the 13th, around the seventh hour, it burst through all at once, and water rushed into the entire Kawanakajima area. In Imazato Village and Nakahigakanna Village within Sarashina District, rice fields and private houses were swept away, or muddy water rushed into houses. However, the stored rice will likely be unusable. In other villages, although houses were not swept away to that extent, water covered all the rice fields. By dawn of the following 14th, the water gradually began to recede, but due to the sudden flood, there may have been drowning deaths of people and animals. Moreover, local officials have reported that extensive property loss and land damage are expected to occur. We will report details later, but we first report this matter.
