但し、中将様・定姫様・広姫様は、霊巌嶋のお屋敷へお立ち退きになり、そのままそのお屋敷にご滞在になった。
殿様は御中屋敷へお立ち退きになり、火事が収まったのでお帰りになり、仮のご住居として御物見をご住居となされている旨。

・このたび、御手伝御用（幕府からの命令による手伝い普請など）を仰せつかったことにつき、いかなることにおいても、下の者として筋の通らない発言（難説）をしてはならない旨である。もし心得違いの者があれば、その際にお吟味があるので、この趣旨を支配下の末々・家来等にまで厳しく申し付けること。以上。

・御家中の倹約について、心得違いのないよう度々お達しがあったところ、年月が経つにつれて次第に緩んでいる点もあるため、去る寛政元年（1789年）酉年にお達しになった通り、いよいよ堅く守るよう、別紙にて触れを出すので、その旨を心得ること。以上。

【男性の着服について】
一、綿入れ・袷は、裏・表ともにすべて綿服を用いること。
但し、袖口に絹を掛けることは差し支えない。
一、綿入れ・袷の羽織は、綿服を用いること。
但し、古い粗絹類を裏に使用することは差し支えない。
一、帷子（かたびら）は、すべて布（木綿・麻）を用いること。
但し、上下（かみしも）の下着には、はつこ染めの帷子、および地合いが粗末な晒しは差し支えない。

・On the 20th of last month, the upper residence (kami-yashiki) in Edo was destroyed by fire. As retainers had submitted petitions for self-restraint and inquiries [as to appropriate conduct], word has come down that no such measures are necessary. Please be informed of this. The above is so ordered.
26th day of the 1st month Additionally to the unit (kumi) Inspector (Metsuke)
Note: His Excellency the Chūjō (Middle Counselor), Lady Sada-hime, and Lady Hiro-hime evacuated to the residence on Reigan-jima and remained there.
His Lordship evacuated to the middle residence (naka-yashiki) and, upon the fire being extinguished, returned, using the watchtower (mono-mi) as a temporary residence.

[Verbal Notice issued in Edo]
・On the occasion of being ordered to perform the service of assisting [the shogunate with construction works or similar duties (o-tetsudai goyō)], subordinates are by no means to make unreasonable objections or complaints (nansetsu) regarding any matter whatsoever. Should anyone be found to be in violation of this, they will be subject to investigation at that time. Therefore, these instructions are to be strictly conveyed to all those under one's authority, down to the lowest servants. The above is so ordered.

・Although repeated orders have been issued for the members of the domain household to observe frugality and avoid any misunderstanding [of its requirements], it appears that as the years have passed, compliance has gradually become lax. Therefore, as was ordered in the Kansei 1st year (1789), Year of the Rooster, all are to observe the regulations strictly, as detailed in the attached document. Please be accordingly informed. The above is so ordered.

[Regarding Men's Clothing]
Item: For quilted (wata-ire) and lined (awase) garments, cotton fabric is to be used for both the outer and inner layers in all cases.
Note: It is permissible to use silk at the cuffs.
Item: For quilted and lined haori (half-coats), cotton fabric is to be used.
Note: It is permissible to use old, coarse silk fabric for the lining.
Item: For katabira (unlined summer garments), cloth (cotton or linen) is to be used in all cases.
Note: For the undergarments worn beneath the formal kamishimo, katabira dyed in the "hatsuko" style, as well as coarsely woven bleached cloth, are permissible.
