江戸大地震出火場所附
江戸の九分通りが大地震に見舞われたと聞いて、諸国の親兄弟の嘆き悲しみはいかばかりでしょうか。一刻も早く安否を知らせてもらうことが安心のために第一です。
時は安政二年卯十月二日夜四ツ時より揺り出し、家屋蔵が潰れ死人負傷者数多く、その上出火となり二十五ヶ所が一斉に燃え上がり大火となりました。
まず日光道中では、古河宿、幸手宿、栗橋宿、草加宿、春日部宿、大沢宿、越谷宿、竹塚、梅田村、千住宿五丁目四三二一、加門宿、小塚原等は地震の上出火により残らず焼失。浅草町、新鳥越町三丁目二一、一口は新町、三之輪町一二丁目、坂本町三丁目二一、大音寺前は大きく崩れ、新吉原江戸町一丁目で出火し、揚屋町、京町一丁目二丁目、角町、江戸町二丁目、伏見町が焼失。死人三千七百人、負傷者数知れず。田町二丁目一丁目、竹門、北馬道町、南馬道町、猿若町三丁目二丁目一丁目が焼け、役者新道は残存。聖天町、瓦町、山之宿町、花川戸町は半分残存。矢代神門前は焼失。観世音の二王門は無事。並木町、駒形通り、諏訪町、黒舟町、八幡町中程で止まる。通旅籠町、森田町、片町、一口は田原町三丁目より広徳寺前の寺院町家は大きく損傷。下谷の藤堂、立花その外の御大名御屋敷も残らず損傷。上野町、長者町三丁目二一丁目、魚店七軒町中程より出火して和泉様通まで燃え出る。それより仲町、裏通りが崩れて表通りはおおむね残存。広小路、井口側は焼失。同じく茅町二丁目一丁目まで焼失。根津は二丁とも大きく損じ、死人四百人、負傷者数知れず、二軒のみ残存。無縁坂上は松平備後守様御屋敷が焼失。千駄木、団子坂、この辺り多数潰れ、谷中善光寺坂上は少々残存。
それより本郷通りが損じ、切通しが焼失。加賀様は人数総がかりで消火口を取る。湯島天神は少々損傷、門前両側の町家土蔵付きは総て損傷。同三組町中程で二軒倒壊、その外畑新町、霊雲寺門前、練塀が潰れ、妻恋町では稲荷の社は無事だが町内は潰れる。浅草茅町両側損傷。御目付の石垣が飛び出る。馬喰町、横山町、大伝馬町、小伝馬町は格別少々の損傷。東橋向かいの松平隠岐守様お屋敷は潰れ焼失。本所石原辺りより御船蔵前が潰れ、表町少々、三つ目、緑町一丁目二丁目四丁目、四つ目橋、木場まで焼失。一口は■■町、南新堀、新川、新堀、霊岸島、大川端まで焼失。
深川では相川町、富吉町、諸町、蛤町、氷川町、毛■殿町、熊井町、中島町、黒江町、仲町、永代寺門前が残らず焼失。死人百二十七人。唐通り、新通、右木場、黒舟稲荷、松平阿波守様下屋敷も残らず、入舟町は少々損傷、酒町より川岸通り、石城町まで大きく損じ、寺町、平野町損傷、木場大きく損じ、大和町、この辺り残らず人数四十人焼死。今川橋、日本橋通商の方、伝馬町二丁目少々、三丁目、畳町、五郎兵衛町、因幡町、常磐町、具足町、柳町、大根河岸焼失。
また一口は神田橋内、酒井雅楽頭様、森川、大名小路、遠藤但馬守様御火消屋敷、因州様、越前様等残らず焼失。酒井左衛門様、小笠原様は少々潰れ、永井飛騨守様、本多中務大輔様は焼失。土井様は半焼け、松平右京亮様少々、和田倉御門の内青津様、松平下総守様、内藤紀伊守様、馬場先御門御番所焼失。外桜田御門外、山下御門、鍋島様、南部様、伊東様、松平時之助様焼失。薩州様、長州様、三草丹波様、上村様焼失。一ツ橋通り、雉子橋通り、小川町、本郷丹後守様、松平紀伊守様、榊原式部大輔様、板倉、戸田、この辺り残らず焼失。
また山の手、麻布、麻布間見穴、この辺り大潰れ。四谷の包丁から麹町、平川天神前残らず潰れ。これより御茶の水、番町、青山、六道辻、板橋まで潰れ。また一口は京橋より芝口三丁目少々潰れ、源助町、露月町、新銭座、肥後守様■行潰れ。柴井町より出火し、宇田川町両側焼失。芝神明前両側潰れ、脇坂淡路守様、仙台様少々崩れ。浜松町四丁目、金杉四丁目少々損傷。また品川東海寺山内は残らず崩れ、本宿、新宿坂両側倒れ、また崩れ、高輪、松平大和守様御屋敷崩れ、有馬中務大輔様練塀崩れ、薩州様表長屋崩れ、南久丁崩れ中ほど、高輪家十軒程潰れ、三丁崩れ、妙法寺本堂屋根...

Record of Fire Outbreak Locations in the Great Edo Earthquake
When we heard that nine-tenths of Edo was struck by a great earthquake, how immense must be the grief and sorrow of parents and siblings throughout the various provinces. The most important thing for peace of mind is to receive news of people's safety as quickly as possible.
The time was the night of October 2nd, Ansei 2nd year (1855), when the shaking began from the 4th hour of the night. Houses and storehouses collapsed, there were numerous dead and injured, and on top of this, fires broke out in twenty-five locations simultaneously, creating a great conflagration.
First, along the Nikko Highway: Koga-juku, Satte-juku, Kurihashi-juku, Soka-juku, Kasukabe-juku, Osawa-juku, Koshigaya-juku, Takenotsuka, Umeda Village, Senju-juku 5th district sections 4-3-2-1, Kamon-juku, Kozukahara, etc., were all burned down due to fires following the earthquake. From there, Hongo Street was damaged and Kiridoshi burned. The Kaga domain deployed all personnel to establish fire-fighting positions. Yushima Tenjin suffered some damage, and the townhouses with earthen storehouses on both sides of the gate were all damaged. In the middle of the same San-kumi-cho, two houses collapsed, and in addition, Hata Shin-machi, in front of Reiun-ji Temple, and practice walls collapsed. In Tsuma-koi-cho, the Inari shrine was safe but the neighborhood collapsed. Both sides of Asakusa Kaya-cho were damaged. The stone walls of the metsuke (inspector) flew out. Bakuro-cho, Yokoyama-cho, Odenma-cho, and Kodenma-cho suffered particularly minor damage. The residence of Matsudaira Oki-no-kami facing East Bridge collapsed and burned. From around Honjo Ishihara, the area in front of the imperial boat storehouse collapsed, with some damage to Omote-cho, and burning extended through Mitsume, Midori-cho 1st-2nd-4th districts, Yotsume Bridge, to Kiba. In Fukagawa, Aikawa-cho, Tomikichi-cho, Moro-cho, Hamaguri-cho, Hikawa-cho, Ke■dono-cho, Kumai-cho, Nakajima-cho, Kuroe-cho, Naka-cho, and in front of Eitai-ji Temple all burned completely. 127 people died. Kara Street, Shin Street, Migikiba, Kurofune Inari, and the lower residence of Matsudaira Awa-no-kami were all lost, while Irifune-cho suffered minor damage. From Sake-cho through Kawagishi Street to Ishiki-cho suffered major damage, Tera-cho and Hirano-cho were damaged, Kiba suffered major damage, and around Yamato-cho, 40 people burned to death. Imagawa Bridge, the commercial area of Nihonbashi, Tenma-cho 2nd district (minor), 3rd district, Tatami-cho, Gorobei-cho, Inaba-cho, Tokiwa-cho, Gusoku-cho, Yanagi-cho, and Daikon-gashi burned.
Another area included inside Kanda Bridge, the residences of Sakai Utano-kami, Morikawa, Daimyo-koji, Endo Tajima-no-kami's fire brigade residence, Inshu-sama, Echizen-sama, etc., all burned completely. Sakai Saemon-sama and Ogasawara-sama partially collapsed, Nagai Hida-no-kami-sama and Honda Nakatsukasa-daisuke-sama burned. Doi-sama was half-burned, Matsudaira Ukyo-no-suke-sama minor damage, inside Wada-kura Gate Aozu-sama, Matsudaira Shimosa-no-kami-sama, Naito Kii-no-kami-sama, and Baba-saki Gate guardhouse burned. Outside Soto-Sakurada Gate, Yamashita Gate, Nabeshima-sama, Nambu-sama, Ito-sama, Matsudaira Tokinosuke-sama burned. Satsushu-sama, Choshu-sama, Mikusa Tanba-sama, Uemura-sama burned. Hitotsu-bashi Street, Kiji-bashi Street, Ogawa-cho, Hongo Tango-no-kami-sama, Matsudaira Kii-no-kami-sama, Sakakibara Shikibu-daisuke-sama, Itakura, Toda, all around this area burned completely.
Also in the Yamanote area, Azabu, Azabu Mamiana, this area suffered major collapse. From Yotsuya's Hocho to Koji-cho, in front of Hirakawa Tenjin, all collapsed.
