一、御黒書院の御上段にお着座になる。
御勝手の方より
徳川宮内卿殿
徳川民部卿殿
徳川刑部卿殿
右の方々が順々に出席され、年寄共が披露し、御下段の左の方へ着座された。本日の御祝儀を申し上げる旨、年寄共が言上し、上意があった。掃部頭・年寄共がお取り合いに及び退去した後、掃部頭・年寄共が一同として御祝儀を申し上げ、上意があって終わった。
一、殿上の間へ、掃部頭・年寄共は公家衆が退出する際に板縁まで見送った。
一、御三家ならびに出仕の面々が退出した。
一、伺公の面々は束帯・布衣・素袍を着用して出入りし、素袍着用の者も同様であった。

One: [The Shogun] took his seat at the upper dais of the Black Study (Kuro Shoin).

The above, in order, made their appearances. The senior councilors (toshiyori) announced them, and they took their seats to the left side of the lower dais. The senior councilors reported that the aforementioned wished to offer their congratulations for the day, and the Shogun's will was conveyed. The Kamon-no-kami (lord chamberlain) and senior councilors exchanged courtesies and then withdrew. Thereafter, the Kamon-no-kami and senior councilors together offered their congratulations, the Shogun's will was conveyed, and the proceedings concluded.
One: At the Tenjō-no-ma (Courtiers' Chamber), the Kamon-no-kami and senior councilors escorted the court nobles as far as the boarded veranda upon their departure.
One: The Three Gosanke Houses and those in attendance withdrew.
One: Those in attendance (伺公) wore formal court dress (sokutai), hunting dress (hōi), or plain robes (sohō) upon entering and exiting; those wearing plain robes did so in the same manner.
