延宝六年戊午年
一、正月元日に御本丸において年始の御規式が行われた。御座之間にて本多孫太郎（長員）が初めて御家老として太刀目録を持参して御礼を申し上げ、三献の御祝いの御相伴を仰せ付けられ、御盃を頂戴し御長熨斗を下賜された。その後、奥御書院において本多民部（重方）が御礼を申し上げ、御盃を頂戴し御長熨斗を下賜された。表御書院において高知以上の引渡席の面々が太刀目録を持参して御礼を申し上げ、御流儀の御盃を頂戴し御長熨斗を下賜された。それが済んで、寄合以上長袴以上の面々が太刀目録を持参して御礼を申し上げ、御流儀の御盃を頂戴し御長熨斗を下賜された。

Enpō 6th year, Year of the Earth Horse (1678)
1. On New Year's Day, the New Year ceremonial protocol was held at the Main Castle. In the Goza-no-ma (Lord's sitting room), Honda Magotarō (Nagazane) for the first time as chief retainer presented a sword catalog and offered his respects, was appointed to participate in the three-献 (san-kon) celebratory feast, received the ceremonial cup, and was bestowed御長熨斗 (long ceremonial gift). Thereafter, in the Inner Study, Honda Minbu (Shigekata) offered his respects, received the ceremonial cup, and was bestowed the long ceremonial gift. In the Outer Study, the members of high-ranking positions starting from Kōchi presented sword catalogs, offered their respects, received ceremonial cups according to protocol, and were bestowed long ceremonial gifts. After this was completed, members of the council and above wearing long hakama presented sword catalogs, offered their respects, received ceremonial cups according to protocol, and were bestowed long ceremonial gifts.
