27th Day: The customary internal review (nairan) accounting assembly was held. Next, regarding the monthly sacred music (kagura) ceremony on the 10th of each month at Ota Shrine, two to (approximately 36 liters) of sake offerings had been provided by the household of Yarokūemon of Umetsujimachi. As there had been an outstanding payment since last year, the matter was disclosed today. It was reported that the contribution came through the younger brother of Yarokūemon, from the "Hatsuha" party, but since it was originally a pious donation (寄進) and the donor had fallen into financial ruin, it was claimed that this was no longer a place of donation. [Illegible portions] It was determined to treat it as a rice-field tax (田役). However, for the purposes of prayer [remainder illegible], it was settled accordingly.
On [a certain] evening, an assembly was held. From the Hachijō-sama [a noble personage], [an offering of] five to of rice was donated for the inner sanctuary (naijin). Accordingly, regarding the carp offered as the first [ritual offering], which in recent times had been substituted with salted sea bream, it was decided to revert to fresh (live) carp. Likewise, it was decided that genuine pheasant should be prepared as the bird offering. Until now, six sheets of dried squid (surume) had been used as a substitute.
The order of proceedings for the naorai (post-ceremony banquet) was as follows:
The accounts to be sent down to Edo, the account records of the shrine officers' estates from the previous year, and the accounts for the current month were submitted.
Regarding the year-end and New Year's gift offerings.
Regarding the preparation of toso (spiced medicinal sake) and hakusan (a medicinal powder) for New Year's Day — there had been prior deliberation on this matter, and the Director of the Imperial Medical Office (Tenyakunokami) had been requested to assist; accordingly, a representative came to make the application. This was something that had been discontinued for a long time.
