　御座候間相住之義願上候也　評議中ニ又順覚罷出申上候ハ今朝御願
　申上候欣西義親類之内不幸有之候ニ付右願之義先申下候也
一出雲介富俊被申入水掛役之義先会段々御辞退申入候得共達而御兼頼
　来会迄預り置候様にとの義に御座候昨日ゟ家内病人有之今日出席も
　難仕程之仕合ニ御座候間達而御断被成度との義也　評ニ御尤之義ニ候
　然者御許容可被進也為御代り紀伊守茂宗御兼頼之処御領掌也
一競馬之節役人休所御兼頼之方へ御挨拶如何可被成哉候事先格ハ白銀
　弐両か三両程被進候御内証使之休所ハ御祭一日ニ而も金弐百疋被遣候
　先格ニ候此度船次郎大夫重大夫等ハ御祭と競馬両日以上三ヶ度ニ而候

・（前ページより続き）おられますので、相住の件をお願い申し上げます、とのことでした。評議の最中に、また順覚が出てきて申し上げるには、今朝お願い申し上げました欣西の件について、親類の内に不幸があったため、右の願いの件はひとまず申し下げます、とのことでした。

・出雲介富俊が申し入れるには、水掛役の件について、先の会合でたびたびご辞退を申し入れましたが、どうしても兼ねてご依頼があり、次の会合まで預かり置くようにとのことでございました。昨日より家内に病人がおり、今日の出席も難しい状況でございますので、どうしてもご辞退なさいますようにとのことです。評議にて、もっともなことであるから、許容なさるべきとのこと。その代わりとして紀伊守茂宗がお引き受けをご依頼されたところ、ご承諾とのことです。

・競馬の際の役人休憩所へのご挨拶はいかがになさるべきかという件について。従来の先例では白銀二両か三両ほどをお渡しになっておられました。御内証使の休憩所については、御祭の一日だけでも金二百疋をお渡しになったのが先例でございます。今回、船次郎大夫・重大夫らは御祭と競馬の両日で合わせて三回ほどになりますので、百疋でも不足のように存じます。特に目附方の休憩所でございますので、ご挨拶の仕方によっては今後お引き受けいただける方がなくなっては気の毒でございますから、次の会合でご相談の上、お心を付けられるのがよろしいかと存じます。

・職中より申し入れるには、五月分のお払い銀が不足しております。銀子をご調達ください。近日中に月番六役、ご兼頼の衆中をお召し集め、ご参会の上ご相談があるべきとのこと。

・造作方より説明がございました。この間、竹が鼻（竹ヶ鼻）の一撃軒造作の願いに付き、検分いたしましたところ、東北の庇を少々継ぎ足したいとのことでございます。藪陰にあるため目立つこともないかと存じますので、公儀へのお願いには及ばないのではないかというご相談です。藪陰で目立たないとしても、他の前例になっては困るのではないかということ。特に寺庵については別段ご吟味も厳しゅうございますので、いかがなものかという意見もあります。しかし、もともとそこにあったものを一旦取り壊してまた継ぎ足すのであれば、お届けにも及ばないのではないか、あるいは元々そこにあったものではないのかもしれない。もう一度ご吟味なさって、次の会合にてご意見をいただきたい。

・この節（時節）、渇水のため、田畑にて魚猟を堅く停止する旨、手触れ（通達）を仰せ付けられるのがよろしいかと存じます。

・渇水のため、精進頭中へ祈雨の御祈祷を今日より一七箇日（七日間）仰せ入れられる件。もっとも初・中・終の三度、お神酒をお供えすること。一頭人延保へ申し入れ、躬清がご参加されました。

・境内廻りを今日行いましたところ、御境内に別条（異状）なしとの旨を、新千代大夫が届け出ました。

・水掛り担当の三河守・紀伊守が今日田畑を廻りましたところ、今晩までにはおおむね六割ほどは植え付けができる見込みとのこと。季脩より申し入れるには、今回ご命じになりました水役人・又左衛門・六郎兵衛の両人が、この節昼夜精を出して田畑へ出ておりますので、役米をお貸し渡しになりますよう、明日の小寄会にてご披露があるべきとのことです。

・渇水のため、御池の水を拝領なさるべき旨について、明日早々に小寄会を催し、明日直接ご出頭なさるのがよろしいかと存じます。この段、今晩神主へ仰せ入れ置かれ、明日早くにお催しになるのがよいとの段を、会所兼太へ雑掌より申し入れ置きました。この序（機会）に、口車（車の口、水車か水路に関する事）の件についても相談いたしまして……

As there has been a sick person in my household since yesterday, and I am even unable to attend today's session, I earnestly request to be formally excused. The deliberation concluded that this was reasonable and that his request should be granted. In his place, Kii-no-kami Shigekuni was asked to take over the role, and he accepted.

• Regarding how to present a courtesy gift to the officials' rest area during the horse races: According to previous precedent, two to three ryō of silver was offered. For the rest area of the private envoy, even for a single day of the festival, two hundred hiki in gold was offered as precedent. • A report was given by the Construction Division: Regarding a recent petition for construction work on the Ikkigoken (一撃軒) at Takenohana, an inspection was carried out, and it was found that they wish to extend the northeastern eaves slightly. As the area is in the shade of bamboo groves and unlikely to attract notice, it was suggested that perhaps it would not be necessary to petition the authorities (public offices). However, concerns were raised that even if it goes unnoticed in the bamboo shade, setting a precedent for other structures could be problematic. Particularly for temple and hermitage structures, scrutiny from authorities tends to be especially strict. On the other hand, if the existing ground-level structure were to be dismantled and then extended, a formal notification might not be required — or perhaps the structure there may not be original. It was decided to conduct further investigation and bring the matter to the next meeting for a decision.

• Regarding the current drought, it was deemed appropriate to issue a strict notice prohibiting fishing in the rice paddies and fields.

• Due to the drought, the head priests (Shōjin-tōnaka) were instructed to perform rain-praying rituals (Kiu no Gokitō) beginning today for a period of one week (one seven-day period). Offerings of sacred sake were to be presented three times — at the beginning, middle, and end. A notice was sent to Tōnin Nobuyasu, and Mimikiyo attended.

• Regarding today's inspection of the shrine precincts: Shinchiyodayū reported that there were no irregularities within the shrine grounds.

• The Water Overseers, Mikawa-no-kami and Kii-no-kami, conducted an inspection of the fields today and reported that by this evening, approximately sixty percent of the fields are expected to be planted.
