#### 十月（続き）・十一月
一、竹千代様ご誕生のお祝いとして、御老中をご招待されるにあたり、御老中・松平左近将監（乗邑）殿、西丸御老中・松平能登守（乗賢）殿、若年寄中、その他御役人の方々がお越しになり、ご饗応として能をお催しになるよう仰せ付けられた。
一、閏十一月朔日（一日）、上使・御使番の曾我又衛門殿を通じて、御鷹の雁をご拝領された（上使者の取り扱いは例の通り）。右のお礼として両御丸へご登城され、その後、御老中方へご廻勤された。
一、同月四日、天徳寺において、今朝、昇安院様の十七回忌のお取越・御茶湯が執り行われた。
一、同月十三日、大目付中よりの御廻状にて、竹千代様へ来年より年頭の御太刀・馬代、四月二十八日の菖蒲御甲、十二月二十八日の御破魔弓をご献上されるよう申し来た。
一、同月十六日、寒中につきご機嫌伺いのため、御用番・本多中務大輔（忠良）殿、西丸御老中・松平能登守（乗賢）殿へご挨拶に伺った。
一、同月二十二日、右同様につき、御使者をもって例の通り御国産の生鱈（一番）をご献上された。
一、同月二十五日、右同様として（二番）の生鱈が到着したのでご献上されるべきところ、道中暖気のため傷んでしまったため、ご献上はなされない旨を御用番・本多中務大輔（忠良）殿へお伝えした。

#### 10th Month (continued) / 11th Month
One item: In celebration of the birth of Lord Taketchiyo, the senior councillors (rōjū) were invited. Senior Councillor Matsudaira Sakon-no-shōgen (Norисato) and Nishi-no-maru Senior Councillor Matsudaira Noto-no-kami (Norisato/Norikata), the junior councillors (wakadoshiyori), and other officials attended. A Noh performance was ordered to be held as part of the banquet.
One item: On the first day of the intercalary 11th month, through the shogunal envoy (jōshi) and castle inspector (otsukaiban) Soga Mataemon, a wild goose caught by the shogun's hawk was received as a gift (the handling of the shogunal envoy followed customary procedure). In gratitude for this gift, the lord proceeded to both castle compounds (the Main Keep and Nishi-no-maru) and thereafter made courtesy calls on the senior councillors.
One item: On the 4th day of the same month, at Tentokuji temple, a memorial service (o-torikoshi) and tea ceremony were held for the 17th anniversary of the death of Shōan-in-sama.
One item: On the 13th day of the same month, a circular from the ōmetsuke (grand inspector) announced that, beginning the following year, offerings should be presented to Lord Takechchiyo: a ceremonial sword and horse-equivalent (monetary gift) at New Year, ceremonial iris-decorated armor (shōbu no kabuto) on the 28th day of the 4th month, and a ceremonial hamaya (evil-warding arrow) on the 28th day of the 12th month.
One item: On the 16th day of the same month, as it was midwinter, a courtesy call was made on the duty senior councillor Honda Nakatsukasa-no-taifu (Tadayoshi) and Nishi-no-maru Senior Councillor Matsudaira Noto-no-kami (Norikata) to inquire after their well-being.
One item: On the 22nd day of the same month, in the same vein, fresh cod (first delivery), a regional specialty, was presented as a gift through a messenger, following customary practice.
One item: On the 25th day of the same month, a second delivery of fresh cod arrived for presentation in the same manner; however, as the cod had spoiled due to unseasonably warm weather along the road, it was reported to the duty senior councillor Honda Nakatsukasa-no-taifu (Tadayoshi) that the presentation would not be made.
