一 智光院諸事表向之儀をも少々承様ニ被為及
聞召候左様ニ候而ハ孫太郎為以之外不宜事候間
向後弥構不申孫太郎養育之儀迄可被致

大安院様御代ニも以て本多左近被 仰聞趣其己後
毛受監物吉田竹右衛門以両人被 仰聞通弥相

一 同日、御領内の根長左衛門という者が国元から召し連れられ、昨日三日に江戸に到着したため、居住場所について伺いを立てたところ、小栗美作正矩と同じ屋敷に住まわせて差し支えないとの旨、御老中土井能登守利房殿から指図があった。
一 二月十五日、十月番御家老狛杢允貞澄の屋敷で、吉田竹右衛門と本多源五右衛門が府中に出向き、本多孫太郎長員の母である智光院に対し、御意の趣旨を以下の通り申し渡すよう杢允から指示があった。また、孫太郎の家来である岡部木工左衛門、塩谷藤兵衛、本多庄右衛門、本多十左衛門を呼び出し、竹右衛門と源五右衛門を府中表に派遣する旨を申し渡した。御意の趣旨の書付を渡した。
口上の覚
一 智光院が諸事表向きの儀についても少々口出しをするように聞き及んでおります。そのようなことでは孫太郎のためにも甚だよろしくないことですから、今後は決してそのようなことをせず、孫太郎の養育のことだけに専念するようにとの御意であります。以前、大安院様の御代にも本多左近を通じて仰せ聞かされた趣旨、その後毛受監物と吉田竹右衛門の両人を通じて仰せ聞かされた通り、いよいよそのようにするようにと思し召しであります。

Item: On the same day, regarding Nenaga Chōzaemon from the domain who had been summoned from the home province and arrived in Edo yesterday on the third, when inquiry was made about his lodging arrangements, instructions were given by Senior Councilor Doi Noto-no-kami Toshifusa that it would be acceptable for him to lodge at the same residence as Oguri Mimasaka-no-kami Masanori.
Item: On February 15th, at the residence of Koma Moku-no-jō Teisumi, the October-shift Senior Retainer, Yoshida Takeemon and Honda Gen'goemon went to Fuchū. Moku-no-jō instructed them to convey His Lordship's intentions to Chikōin, the mother of Honda Magotarō Nagazane, as follows. He also ordered that Magotarō's retainers - Okabe Moku-zaemon, Shioya Tōbei, Honda Shōemon, and Honda Jūzaemon - be summoned, and that Takeemon and Gen'goemon be dispatched to Fuchū. A written statement of His Lordship's intentions was handed over.
Memorandum of Verbal Instructions
Item: We have heard that Chikōin has been interfering somewhat in various official matters. Such behavior is extremely inappropriate for Magotarō's sake, so henceforth she must absolutely refrain from such conduct and devote herself solely to Magotarō's upbringing, according to His Lordship's will. Previously, during the time of Lady Daian'in, Honda Sakon was instructed about this matter, and afterward both Menju Kenbutsu and Yoshida Takeemon were given the same instructions. His Lordship intends that she should act even more in accordance with these directions.
