公方様御機嫌御伺被成候処御目付中根主税《割書：慶｜正》殿取次を以
御口上之趣得其意候主税殿可被謁筈候得共御用多ニ付御逢
無之候間御帳ニ留退出可有之旨御指図有之

若君様が薨去された（御法号は浄徳院様）
一 閏五月二十九日 右の件により御機嫌伺いのため登城すべきところ、
御病気のため登城が困難であるので、御名代として御家老稲葉采女治房
（御留守居彦坂又兵衛同道）を御城へ派遣した（采女が御城へ参る前に阿部豊後守殿へ御届けのため
参ったが、豊後守殿は御城へ詰めており御留守であったが、
右の趣旨を取次まで申し伝えておき、直ちに御城へ参った）。御悔やみ並びに
公方様への御機嫌伺いを行ったところ、御目付中根主税慶正殿の取次により
御口上の趣旨について了解した旨、主税殿にお会いする予定であったが御用多忙のため
お会いできず、御帳に記録して退出するよう御指図があった。
一 同日 右の件により御大老並びに御老中、若年寄中へ御使者として御家老
稲葉采女治房を派遣した。
一 同日 右の件により武村甚兵衛、野本藤兵衛を早駆（五日振り）で御国許へ
派遣した。
但し甚兵衛等は六月四日に福井へ到着
一 六月四日 右の件により御国表において普請・鳴物停止の段を仰せ出された。
一 同月五日 御喪中の御機嫌伺いのため御使者により御杉重一組を
献上した。右の御披露済みの後、御奉書が御老中戸田山城守忠昌殿より
到来した。

The young lord passed away (posthumous Buddhist name: Jōtoku-in-sama)
One - Intercalary 5th month, 29th day - Regarding the above matter, although [the lord] should have gone to the castle to inquire about [the shogun's] health,
due to illness it was difficult to go to the castle, so as proxy, the senior retainer Inaba Uneme Harufusa
(accompanied by the caretaker Hikosaka Matahee) was sent to the castle (before Uneme went to the castle, he went to report to Lord Abe Bungo-no-kami, but Bungo-no-kami was on duty at the castle and absent from his residence; however,
the matter was conveyed to his attendant and he immediately went to the castle). He offered condolences and
inquired about the shogun's health, whereupon through the intermediation of the inspector Nakane Chikara Yoshimasa,
it was understood that the verbal message was received. Although he was supposed to meet with Chikara, due to many official duties,
there was no meeting, and he was instructed to record it in the register and withdraw.
One - Same day - Regarding the above matter, the senior retainer Inaba Uneme Harufusa was sent as messenger
to the great elder, senior councilors, and junior councilors.
One - Same day - Regarding the above matter, Takemura Jinbee and Nomoto Tōbee were sent by express courier (after a five-day interval)
to the home domain.
Note: Jinbee and others arrived in Fukui on the 6th month, 4th day
One - 6th month, 4th day - Regarding the above matter, it was proclaimed that construction work and musical performances should be suspended in the home domain.
One - Same month, 5th day - To inquire about [the shogun's] health during the mourning period, one set of cedar boxes was
presented through a messenger. After this presentation was completed, an official letter arrived from Senior Councilor Toda Yamashiro-no-kami Tadamasa.
