冬木町・北新川・芝井町・京橋・鍛冶町一・二丁目・五郎兵衛町・南天町・北紺屋町二丁目・大根河岸・竹町・南伝馬町二・三丁目・具足町・柳町・鈴木町・因幡町・松河町・本材木町七・八丁目・八丁堀・水谷町より鉄砲洲まで焼け、築地御堂もそのとおり焼けた。その他にも焼けた場所が判明している。四日申の刻に火が鎮まった。

江戸における地震による出火 以下に記す
安政二年十月二日、亥の上刻より大地震。町中各所より出火。新吉原は残らず焼け、土手下五十軒・馬道辺の芝居小屋も残らず、聖天町・山の宿も残らず。吾妻橋通り凡そ五十軒ほど、浅草駒形堂辺りより黒船町・下谷御成道の中ほど、上野広小路まで東側、池の端・茅町より根津・湯島・天神下の屋敷、小石川辺・小日向、龍慶橋辺の御屋敷・町家焼ける。深川・六間堀より川の西二町ほど、熊井町・一の鳥居まで、伊勢崎町(まで焼ける)。

[The fires consumed] Fuyuki-chō, Kita-Shinkawa, Shiba-ichō, Kyōbashi, Kajichō 1st and 2nd districts, Gorōbē-chō, Minamitera-chō, Kita-Konyachō 2nd district, Daikon-Kashi, Takechō, Minami-Tenma-chō 2nd and 3rd districts, Gusoku-chō, Yanagi-chō, Suzuki-chō, Inaba-chō, Matsukawa-chō, Hon-Zaimoku-chō 7th and 8th districts, Hatchōbori, from Mizutani-chō to Teppōzu — all burned; Tsukiji Midō [the temple] likewise burned. Other burned areas have also been identified. The fire was extinguished at the hour of the Monkey (approximately 4:00 p.m.) on the 4th day.

Fires caused by the earthquake in Edo — recorded below
From the upper part of the Hour of the Boar (approximately 9:00–10:00 p.m.) on the 2nd day of the 10th month of Ansei 2 [1855], a great earthquake struck. Fires broke out in various parts of the city. Shin-Yoshiwara burned completely; fifty houses below the embankment, the theaters along Umamichi all burned; Shōten-chō and Yamano-shuku burned completely. Approximately fifty houses along Azuma-bashi street; from the vicinity of Asakusa Komagata-dō through Kurofune-chō, Shitaya, the middle stretch of Onari-dō road, as far as Ueno Hirokōji on the eastern side; from Ikenohata and Kaya-chō through Nezu, Yushima, estates below Tenjin-shita; the vicinity of Koishikawa and Kohinata; estates and townhouses in the vicinity of Ryūkei-bashi — all burned. [Also burned:] Fukagawa, approximately two chō west of Rokken-bori canal, through Kumai-chō, as far as Ichinotorii, and Isesaki-chō.
