《割書：方位。極下昼夜ノ難下｜二弁ス。合セ見ルヘシ。》
シカモ惣風輪ノ
形状ハ。須弥ヲ心
ニシテ隆凸タリ。

…（日没の）方角に差がないということがあろうか。【割注：出没の方位、極、昼夜の難については下に弁ずる。合わせて見るべし。】
しかも、総風輪の形状は、須弥山を中心として隆起・凸状をなしている。そのため、南贍部洲から西牛貨洲の上方を見るときには、自然と斜めに立った弧の背（曲面）がある。【割注：特に隠篇第十七図と合わせて見るべし。】これに加えて、別風輪があるときには、日没の位置がまた南に偏り傾いて、西方に見えないということがあろうか（＝必ず西方に見える）。【割注：総風輪と別風輪の趣旨は共に同じく、ただ大小の違いがあるのみ。】
もし日没の方向が（差角を生じて）西に（見えると）あれば、弧月（三日月）の開いている方向もまた西でないということがあろうか（＝必ず西である）。図に就いて見るべし。

Moreover, the shape of the general wind-wheel (sōfūrin) is convex and dome-like, with Mount Sumeru at its center. Therefore, when one looks toward the Western Continent (Aparagodānīya) from the Southern Continent (Jambudvīpa), there naturally exists the arc of a curved surface standing at an oblique angle. [Marginal note: Refer especially to Figure 17 in the Hidden Chapter (隠篇) in conjunction with this.] In addition to this, when there is a separate wind-wheel (betsufūrin), would the position of the setting sun not appear to shift to the south and become invisible in the west? (That is, it would certainly appear in the west.) [Marginal note: The principles of the general wind-wheel and the separate wind-wheel are the same; there is only a difference in scale.]
If the direction of the sunset, with its angular difference, appears in the west, then could the direction in which the crescent moon opens also be anything other than westward? (That is, it must certainly face west.) Refer to the diagram.
