《割書：泰｜平》震華鑑要（しんくはかんえう）
安政弐卯年十月二日夜四ツどき
大ぢ？しん在之其中にて所々出火
に付｜潰家（つふれや）土蔵等の焼失数も
しれず右｜騒乱（そうらん）ゆへけが人等も
多く在之由ニ候此書は遠国え
告達（かうたつ）の便にならんと委細（いさい）に
相たゝし其印を付置候扨又
此度の義は前代未聞（ぜんだいみもん）の義ニ付
御上にも格別（かくべつ）御仁恵ふかく
御すくひ小家を立御 手当厚（てあてあつく）
いたはらせ給へは遠国の縁者に
ても安心致べき事にて今より
御心得にも可相成義と此段書記候

現代語訳
『泰平震華鑑要』（たいへいしんかかんよう）
安政2年卯年10月2日の夜、四つ時（午後10時頃）に大地震が発生し、その最中に各所で火災が起きたため、倒壊した家屋や土蔵などの焼失数も計り知れない。この騒乱により、怪我人なども多数出たとのことである。この書は、遠方の地に知らせを伝える便りとなるよう、詳細を調べまとめ、その印を付けておいた。さて、今回の件は前代未聞の出来事であることから、お上（幕府）においても格別に深いご仁恵をもって、お救い小屋を建て、手当を厚くしてねぎらってくださっているので、遠国の縁者の方々も安心されることと思う。今後のご参考にもなるべき事柄として、この段を書き記す。

"Taihei Shinka Kanyō" (Essential Mirror of the Great Earthquake during the Peaceful Era)
On the night of the 2nd day of the 10th month of the 2nd year of Ansei (1855), the Year of the Hare, a great earthquake struck at the Hour of the Boar (around 10 o'clock at night). Fires broke out in various locations during the disaster, causing the destruction of collapsed houses, storehouses (dozō), and other structures beyond count. It is reported that many people were also injured in the resulting chaos. This book has been compiled to serve as a means of informing those in distant provinces, carefully documenting the details and marking them accordingly. Furthermore, as this incident is unprecedented in history, the authorities (the Shogunate) have shown exceptional benevolence, establishing relief shelters, providing generous assistance, and offering care to those affected. Those with family connections in distant regions need not worry. We record this passage here so that it may also serve as useful knowledge going forward.
