**Regarding Each Shrine (某社)**
On the preceding day, the sacred lamp grass (燃燈草) is wrapped in paper and brought, with a tag bearing the shrine's name attached and left in place. On the day of the ceremony, the *shutsunō* (出納, administrative official) oversees the distribution.
**Procedure for Attending at Each Shrine
First, put on shoes (*kutsu*) before the torii gate and proceed directly to the *doi* (土居, earthen embankment), where one bow is performed. Ascend the steps and bow once at the *ōyuka* (大床, main platform), then present the sacred lamp grass upon the *o-daiban* (御台盤, offering stand). (The *tensō* [転供, ritual food redistributor] and *shōjin tōnin* [精進頭人, head of the abstinence ritual] also bow in the same manner.) Take a seat in the *haiden* (拝殿, worship hall), first perform two bows, recite the *norito* (祝詞, ritual prayer), then clap hands and bow twice. Bow once at the *doi*, bow once at the *ōyuka*, and place the wrapped lamp grass standing upright on both sides of the sacred door. (The *negi*'s [禰宜] wrapped offerings are placed by the *negi* group; the *hafuri*'s [祝] wrapped offerings are placed by the *hafuri* group.) Then withdraw.

**[Left Page]**
The daily offerings (*nisshiku*, 日供) are presented according to the usual schedule. From both the morning and evening *naoroi* (直会, post-ritual banquet) of the shrine officials on duty and the chief priest's *naoroi*, six cups are to be set aside for use during ritual occasions.
**The Last Day of the Second Month: Tsuchitoki Festival (土解祭)**
Around the Hour of the Monkey (申刻, approximately 4 PM), the sacred doors are opened. Each shrine official (*shashi*) dons Court robes (*ekan*) and the announcement of the sacred visit is made three times. (The first announcement of the visit is at the Hour of the Sheep [未刻, approximately 2 PM].) Afterward, they gather at the *samurai-dokoro* (侍所, attendants' hall), and once assembled, the *shoshi dayū* (所司大夫) asks, as is customary, "Shall the divine offerings be dispatched?" The chief priest (*kannagi*) replies that they shall be set forth. Each person rises from their seat and takes a position at the *doi*. The chief priest and *hafuri* (祝) take their seats from the upper side, while the *negi* (禰宜), *gyōgyō* (行形), *gon-hafuri* (権祝), and those below are seated from the lower side. (However, the two officials of Kifune [貴布禰] proceed directly to Kifune Shrine.) Next, the divine offerings are dispatched. The *hafuri* group and the shrine officials of Tsuchiya (土屋) prostrate themselves. Then, beneath the *tamahhashi* (玉橋, jewel bridge), the *onmyō dayū* (陰陽大夫, Yin-Yang master) purifies the divine offerings. Next, the shrine officials rise, and at the same location, the bodies of the shrine officials are purified. Each person takes a seat at the *sukurō* (透廊, open corridor) and *watadono* (渡殿, connecting hall). Then the *azukari dayū* (預大夫) presents the sacred key, and next the *hafuri* opens the sacred doors. (Each shrine official moves from their seat and prostrates.) Then the divine offerings are presented. From the *hafuri* group and the *negi* group, the sacred chopsticks (before the divine offerings, as announced) and sacred sake (after the divine offerings, likewise) are presented by the *negi* group on each occasion. Immediately after the presentation, the *ujigami-hafuri* (氏神祝) bows once at the *doi* and returns to their original seat. Each person bows once. When the Kataoka *hafuri* (片岡祝) returns to their seat, the sacred key is received from the *azukari*. From the Kataoka *hafuri* onward…
