[Right Page] Regarding the Ritual of the Middle Day of the Cock for Kifune Shrine (In recent times, due to the mourning month of Emperor Nakamikado-in, the lower Day of the Cock is used) First, around the hour of the Cock (but after the imperial messenger has departed), both officials along with the tenku (two people) and those who make daily visits each put on purified robes, starting with Ota, and proceed to visit Kifune Shrine (However, those making daily visits follow the karakiri boxes containing offerings for the small shrine and proceed first. Also, they visit the small shrines along the route as usual and make offerings, and when making daily visits during the time of preparation, the tonegi do not accompany them but perform the ceremony of bringing out). For this ceremony, first the tonegi (two people) carrying ceremonial vestments (also, those carrying ceremonial vestments also carry offerings while walking) along with attendants summoned by both officials (one each) and attendants summoned by tenku (one person) accompany them (However, the tenku attendants are appointed by the head administrator from among five people from Hiiragiha). Pine torches and such are received at the council hall. After this, the inner and outer shrine offering boxes (two containers carried by four bearers who are workers from Hiiragiha) and one daily offering box (carried by one shrine attendant as usual) are first transported to Kifune (However, inner shrine offerings and small shrine offerings are placed in one container, while outer shrine offerings and courtyard offerings are placed in another container, making two containers total). Next, when everyone arrives at Kifune, at the miko's quarters, first both officials put on their court dress and take their seats in the worship hall (facing north with west taking precedence, as usual), and the clan members of the tenku wait behind them (there are no designated seats, so they sit directly). The miko holds the sacred key (placed on a sanpo tray) and waits at the side. Next, when the miko hands the sacred key to the ritual master, the ritual master rises and proceeds to the sacred altar to open the sacred doors (the negi and tenku prostrate themselves), then descends to the earthen floor (as usual). [Left Page] Next, the negi goes to his seat and proceeds to the earthen floor, where both officials bow together and enter the inner shrine. First, they place two kubotsubo vessels on the left and right upon the sacred platform. Next, the tenku rise and proceed to the earthen floor where they bow together. At this time, the senior person waits at the great platform (on the negi's side), and the junior person waits at the earthen floor (on the ritual master's side). Next, the ritual master rolls up the sacred curtain. Next, the sacred offerings are transferred (However, after the sacred offerings arrive, the inner shrine offerings are removed from the containers and placed on the worship hall's sacred platform, while the outer shrine offerings and courtyard offerings in their containers are arranged in north-south rows at the small courtyard on the ritual master's side). For this ceremony, first the hollyhock and katsura for purification are transferred (for left and right use: eight chains of hollyhock and two katsura, two katsura branches are placed on round trays and presented). At this time, both officials offer these on the left and right of the sacred platform (with the ends facing away). Next, the hollyhock and katsura for the current day are offered in the same manner (with the ends facing forward). Next, sacred chopsticks (one set) on the negi's side, boat-shaped rice offering (one vessel), boat-shaped rice cake offering (one vessel), then single items (sweetfish as substitute for carp, one fish), sea bream (two fish), ray (two pieces, with one piece [illegible]), garlic (one bulb), hinoki bark.
