十一月は小の月で、八日は立冬の節気に入ります。日の出と日の入りの時刻も立春と同じで、時間は全く変わりません。今は年貢の納付も済み、すべての穀物が豊作で実ったことを、お互いに喜び合って祝っています。木の葉は落ちて、山々の姿を露わにし、樹林は変化して薪や炭となり、木こりの歌声が響きます。
英語訳
November is a small month (30 days), and the eighth day marks the beginning of the Rittō (start of winter) seasonal period. The times of sunrise and sunset are the same as at the start of spring, with no change in duration. Now that the tribute rice has been delivered and all grains have ripened abundantly, people celebrate and rejoice together. Tree leaves have fallen, revealing the true form of the mountains. The forests transform into firewood and charcoal, and the songs of woodcutters can be heard.
