するがよし、農事は殊
更 大切（たいせつ）にて、国の基本（きほん）
と心得て、返（かへ）す〳〵も寒
暑の気 候（こう）、晴陰（せいゐん）の模（も）
様（やう）をはかり、注意（ちうい）して、
萬種蒔の、遅速（ちそく）を考（かんがへ）
耕（たがや）せば、はたして取（とり）実（み）
十分（じうふん）ぞや、ものゝ 道理（どうり）
と始終（しじう）を篤（とく）と辨（わきま）へて、
勉（つとむ）る時は、謂（いはゆ）る富国（ふこく）強（き）

するのがよい。農業は特に大切で、国の基盤と心得て、繰り返し寒暑の気候、晴天と曇天の様子を測り、注意深く観察して、
あらゆる種まきの早い遅いを考え、耕作すれば、きっと収穫は十分であろう。物事の道理と始めから終わりまでをよく理解して、努力する時は、いわゆる富国強兵

considering the early or late timing of sowing all kinds of seeds and cultivating the land, then surely the harvest will be abundant. When one thoroughly understands the principles of things from beginning to end and makes effort, this leads to what is called "fukoku kyōhei" (enriching the country and strengthening the military)
