泥原新保浦に下される

granted to Dorobara Shimbo-ura
One, on the same day, regarding the peasants of Itosaki-ura in Sakai District who have fallen into hardship in recent years with many cases of tax arrears, in order to somehow restore tax collection, all the people of the village agreed together and from the end of the Year of the Dragon two years ago pledged to abstain from tea, sake, and tobacco for one thousand days and to simplify all matters accordingly. Since then they have strictly observed this pledge and devoted themselves to tax payment. This was deemed admirable, and as a reward it was announced that thirty koku of rice would be granted annually until the coming Year of the Monkey.
