よく考えると、これはヘビイチゴであって、白屈菜（クサノオウ）ではない。
春には花が咲き、タンポポ・コマクサ・サクラソウ・スプリングランの類、ハコベ・エンゴサク（玄胡索）など、節々の菜や葱の葉と同様に、平野や丘陵地を選ばず、一斉にあでやかに咲き誇り、美しい姿を呈する。

This plant is likely the same type as the grass sketched later at Okuruke. It may also be a variety of mock strawberry (*Hebiichigo*). It is difficult to distinguish from the illustration alone. Upon further reflection, one should consider whether this might belong to the group commonly called *Yamabukisō* (Japanese kerria herb).

Upon careful consideration, this is a mock strawberry (*Hebiichigo*) and not Greater Celandine (*Hakutsusai* / *Chelidonium*).
In spring, flowers bloom — among them dandelion, *Dicentra*, primrose, spring orchid, chickweed, *Corydalis* (玄胡索), and others — and just as the leaves of seasonal vegetables and green onions, these plants bloom brilliantly across open fields and hillsides alike, without preference for location, displaying their vivid colors and graceful beauty all at once.
