（江戸へ）上った際、病気のため組の差配などは息子の半兵衛が行うよう仰せ付けられ、病中に度々お使いをいただき、病状については毎日申し上げるよう仰せ聞かされ、医師の件についてまでご評議いただき、その上、江戸での駕籠の使用をご免除いただいた。
一、同年（万治二年）九月四日、六十三歳にて病死。法名：釈宗源。葬所：無量山長命寺。

Upon traveling to Edo, due to illness, his son Hanbei was ordered to manage the affairs of the unit (組) in his place. During his illness, messengers were sent to him repeatedly, and he was instructed to report on his condition daily. Consultation was even extended to matters regarding his physician, and furthermore, he was granted permission to use a palanquin (kago) while in Edo.
One entry: On the fourth day of the ninth month of the same year (Manji 2, 1659), he died of illness at the age of sixty-three. Posthumous Buddhist name (hōmyō): Shaku Sōgen. Place of burial: Muryōzan Chōmyōji Temple.
