The御奏者番 (ceremonial officials), 御小姓頭 (head pages), as well as town magistrates, officials, and inspectors were directly granted御長鮑 (long abalone) by the lord.
However, while the previous lord had visited Jōkōin Temple and stopped by the residence of Nagami Shima before arriving at the castle, since this was the first entry into the domain, to avoid delays, these formalities were omitted and he went directly to the main castle.
Item: June 2nd - Regarding the same matter, an envoy Koma Mokuzaemon-no-jō (Sadazumi) was dispatched to Edo as a courtesy. He departed from Fukui today.
Item: Same month (day unclear) - For courtesy regarding the return to the domain, through envoy Koma Mokuzaemon-no-jō (Sadazumi), fifty bundles of ceremonial paper and one load of various goods were presented. Mokuzaemon-no-jō was granted an audience.
Note: The precedent was only ceremonial paper, but since this was the beginning of a new reign, sake barrels and delicacies were added.
Item: 18th of the same month - Regarding the summons to the castle, when the caretaker official attended, he received an official letter from the senior councilors in the Yanagi-no-ma room concerning the Boys' Day congratulatory offerings. On that occasion, the caretaker official was granted two sets of seasonal clothing.
"Numerous summer robes, unlined garments, and lined garments have arrived as Boys' Day congratulations. His lordship is pleased to receive them. Sakai Utanokami will convey further details."
May 3rd, Official Black Seal
To Lord Echizen Jijū
Note: Regarding official letters about such offerings, since they follow the same pattern hereafter, they will not be recorded.
