        武術御覧ニ付品々 一御本丸ニ而侍中武芸御覧之節御目付不残御前へ相詰事 一侍中鉄炮御覧之節矢部御目付組之者申付ル弓ハ御持弓組ゟ持出之 一弓鉄炮御覧之節的角共ニ角番之方ニ而申付指出之   右二ヶ条取扱角番取扱留別帳ニ委細記之 【右の一条の下に「一前之弓御覧之節大広間と鶴之間と境ニ御杦戸明置候処人大勢入込御屏風ニも障り御帳付居所も無之ニ付享保十九寅五月廿七日弓御覧之節ゟ右御杦戸〆切被成」】 一弓鉄炮御覧其外武芸御覧之節稽古道具御門々無滞相通候事     但御目付ゟ御門所へ断差出之 一享保十五戌年十月廿七日之留ニ与力武芸相勤候節 【右の享保十五の条の下に左の文が附記】   先之御代ゟ麻上下着相勤候探源院様御代肩衣ハ御免被成候   此度も麻袴着罷出候様御目付ゟ与力共へ夫々申付ル旨同十一月四日之留先月廿七日御覧之節   慶■弟子之内与力共七人病気申立依之引候旨右之内   大宮彦右衛門与力杦田助左衛門ハ病気相違無之旨   猶委曲留有之 一同廿卯年六月八日留ニ酒井玄蕃方御目付高村四郎右衛門へ被申聞候最前於御本丸武芸有之節与力共着用袴之事 以前之通麻上下之下着用罷出候様ニ海福瀬左衛門御目付候節  歟申渡候其節御目付共申付事ニ候故其通与力共へ申付候    得共不同心之者も有之病気抔申不罷出者も有之其後得と相究候事も無之候今年御  留守之事近々為御名代自分共侍中鉄炮弓見申ニ付右之与力袴之事得と相極度事之故本多修理稲  葉采女申談候而与力共へ時節着用之袴を着罷出候様申渡候此段承置候様ニと被申聞候  且右之趣狛市右衛門大宮彦右衛門へ拙者共ゟ為相知候様ニ被申聞候ニ付為知候旨留有之 一御代替初而武芸御覧之節ハ師役之面々御紋御上下被下置候事  師役之面々御内証ニ而御上下被下矢申組之者五人へ御内証ニ而金弐百疋被下候旨鈴木清八申渡■■いたし何方へも御礼無之 一享保十五戌年四月廿九日於御座所御矢場師匠共弓鉄炮御覧有之前々之通  角幷矢申組之者五人差出八時初り七時前済前々ゟ御内証にハ御目付共不罷出段留有之故此節も御目付共不罷出候 一同年八月武芸御覧之節師匠共へ単物一ツヽ被下置同九月ゟ御覧之節時服    

現代語訳

武術御覧に関する諸事項 一、御本丸において侍中の武芸御覧の際は、御目付は残らず御前に詰めること 一、侍中の鉄砲御覧の際、矢部御目付組の者が申し付ける弓は、御持弓組から持ち出すこと 一、弓・鉄砲御覧の際の的や矢立などは、いずれも角番の方で申し付けて差し出すこと  右の二か条の取り扱いについては、角番取扱留の別帳に詳細を記載してある 【注記:以前の弓御覧の節、大広間と鶴の間の境の御杉戸を開け置いたところ、人が大勢入り込み、御屏風にも支障があり、御帳付の居場所もなくなったため、享保十九年寅年五月二十七日の弓御覧の節から、右の御杉戸は締め切ることとなった】 一、弓・鉄砲御覧その他武芸御覧の際、稽古道具は各御門を滞りなく通すこと  ただし、御目付から御門所へ断りを入れて差し出すこと 一、享保十五年戌年十月二十七日の記録によると、与力が武芸に相勤める際について 【享保十五年の条の下に以下の文が付記されている】  先の御代から麻の上下を着て相勤めていたが、探源院様の御代に肩衣は御免となった  今回も麻袴を着て罷り出るよう御目付から与力共へそれぞれ申し付ける旨、同十一月四日の記録。先月二十七日の御覧の節、慶■の弟子のうち与力共七人が病気を申し立て、これにより引き下がった旨。その内、大宮彦右衛門与力の杉田助左衛門は病気に相違ない旨。なお委細は記録に有り。 一、同二十年卯年六月八日の記録によると、酒井玄蕃方の御目付高村四郎右衛門へ申し聞かせた件。最前御本丸において武芸があった節の与力共着用の袴の事について。以前の通り麻上下の下を着用して罷り出るよう、海福瀬左衛門が御目付であった節に申し渡した。その節は御目付共が申し付ける事であったため、その通り与力共へ申し付けた。 しかし不同心の者もあり、病気などを申して罷り出ない者もあり、その後きちんと決着した事もなかった。今年は御留守の事で、近々御名代として自分共が侍中の鉄砲・弓を見ることになったため、右の与力の袴の事をきちんと決めたい事情があり、本多修理・稲葉采女と申し談じて、与力共へ時節に応じた袴を着て罷り出るよう申し渡した。この段承知するようにと申し聞かせた。 また、右の趣旨を狛市右衛門・大宮彦右衛門へ自分共から知らせるようにと申し聞かせたため、知らせた旨記録に有り。 一、御代替わりで初めて武芸御覧の節は、師役の面々に御紋の御上下を下し置くこと  師役の面々へ御内証で御上下を下し、矢申組の者五人へ御内証で金二百疋を下された旨、鈴木清八が申し渡し、どちらへも御礼はなし 一、享保十五年戌年四月二十九日、御座所の御矢場において師匠共の弓・鉄砲御覧があった。前々からの通り。  的並びに矢申組の者五人を差し出し、八時初めから七時前に済ませた。前々から御内証には御目付共は罷り出ない段、記録にあるため、この節も御目付共は罷り出なかった 一、同年八月の武芸御覧の節、師匠共へ単物を一つずつ下し置き、同九月からの御覧の節は時服

Various Matters Concerning Martial Arts Viewing 1. When viewing martial arts of the samurai retainers at the main castle, all metsuke (inspectors) must be present before his lordship. 2. When viewing firearms of the samurai retainers, the bows ordered by those of the Yabe metsuke group shall be brought out from the御持弓組 (御持弓組). 3. For bow and firearm viewing, targets and arrow stands shall all be provided by arrangement of the kadoban (gate guards). The handling of the above two articles is recorded in detail in a separate volume of kadoban handling records. [Note: During previous bow viewing sessions, the cedar doors between the large hall and crane room were left open, but many people crowded in, interfering with the folding screens and leaving no place for the record-keepers to sit. Therefore, from the bow viewing session on May 27th of Kyōhō 19 (1734), these cedar doors were ordered to be kept closed.] 4. During bow and firearm viewing and other martial arts viewing, practice equipment shall pass through all gates without delay. However, the metsuke must give notice to the gate stations before sending them out. 5. According to records from October 27th of Kyōhō 15 (1730), regarding when yoriki (police officers) serve in martial arts: [The following text is appended below the Kyōhō 15 entry] From the previous lord's reign, they served wearing hemp kamishimo (formal dress), but during Lord Tangenin's reign, the shoulder garments were exempted. This time as well, they were ordered to appear wearing hemp hakama (formal trousers) as instructed by the metsuke to the yoriki on November 4th of the same year. At the viewing on the 27th of last month, seven yoriki among Kei■'s disciples claimed illness and withdrew. Among them, Sugita Sukesaemon, yoriki to Ōmiya Hikoemon, was confirmed to be genuinely ill. Further details are in the records. 6. According to records from June 8th of the same 20th year (1735), what was reported to metsuke Takamura Shirōemon of the Sakai Gemba group: Regarding the hakama worn by yoriki during martial arts at the main castle previously. They were told to appear wearing the undergarments of hemp kamishimo as before, when Kaifuku Saemon was metsuke. Since it was a matter for the metsuke to order at that time, the yoriki were instructed accordingly. However, there were some who disagreed, and some who did not appear claiming illness, and the matter was never properly settled afterward. This year, due to his lordship's absence, we will soon be viewing the samurai retainers' firearms and archery as proxies. Since we wanted to properly decide the matter of the yoriki's hakama, we consulted with Honda Shuri and Inaba Uneme and ordered the yoriki to appear wearing hakama appropriate to the occasion. We were told to acknowledge this point. Also, we were told to inform Koma Ichiemon and Ōmiya Hikoemon of this matter from ourselves, so we notified them as recorded. 7. For the first martial arts viewing after a change of lord, the instructor roles shall be given formal dress with the lord's crest. Formal dress was given privately to the instructor roles, and 200 hiki of gold was given privately to five members of the archery group, as announced by Suzuki Seihachi, with no formal thanks to either party. 8. On April 29th of Kyōhō 15 (1730), there was a viewing of instructors' archery and firearms at the archery range in the lord's quarters, as had been done previously. Targets and five members of the archery group were provided, starting at the eighth hour and finishing before the seventh hour. Since records show that metsuke had not appeared at private sessions previously, the metsuke did not appear this time either. 9.
