寒空（さむそら）といひ 此度の
おもひがけない ぢしん
仕（し）よふを爰（こゝ）に 大道の
見せ申さん 小やがけ
風雅でもなく 大道のかこひで
しやれでなく 酒のんでゐる人
とんと絵（え）に 大黒はしのふね
書（かい）たとふり はんこうニ引合
してゐる人
折角（せつかく）おもしろふ ちして茶屋うら
えふた酒 とんで出る霧（きり）
たすきはづ 昼（ひる）めし前の
して飛（とん）で出る ゆさ〳〵
是上にれはと 用意（ようい）の
さし出（いだ）す 氣（き）つけ
飛脚（ひきやく）が来（き）たらば 遠方（えんほう）へ
しらせいよ 出す手かみ
おまへなり 大工方
わたしなり 手傳
是は〳〵 往来（わうらい）で瓦（かはら）が
いたみ入 おちてけがした人
わたしが役（ヤく）の 大地しんで
二人（ふたり）まへ にハかに男世帯（おとこせたい）

## 大地震・大津波 忠臣蔵九段目 祓文句
【上段】
寒空とはいうものの、思いがけない地震
やり方をここで、大通りの小屋掛け（見世物小屋）で見せてあげましょう
風雅でもなく、大通りの囲いの中で酒を飲んでいる人
しゃれでもなく
まるで絵に描いたとおり、大黒橋の船が半壊して引き合っている人
せっかく楽しく飲んだ酒も、地震で茶屋の裏からとんで出る霧（の如く消えた）
たすきを外して飛び出る、昼飯前のゆさゆさ（揺れ）
これ以上になったらと、用意の気付け（薬）を差し出す
飛脚が来たならば知らせよ、遠方へ出す手紙
お前のため、私のため、大工方の手伝い（復興作業）
これはこれは痛み入ります、往来で瓦が落ちてけがをした人
私が役の二人前（を引き受ける）、大地震でにわかに男所帯（になった人）
いかに約束とはいえ、津波で死んだ人
【下段】
様子によっては聞き捨てならぬ、諸方の大津波
親の欲目はわからないけれど、新築の家にいる人
それは真実の、大声の中の、本当かと噂を聞く人
家にも身にも換えぬ重宝、銘々に金を持たせて逃がす人
途方に暮れた折から、在所の親類が迎えに来た人
合点がゆかぬ、こりゃどうじゃ、津波で上がったと思うにまたゆさゆさ（余震）
遊興に耽り、大酒に性根を乱し、見舞いにかこつけて柔らかい家（遊郭）へ行く息子
日本一のおおふの鑑（模範）、外へも出ずじまん顔でへたっている人
さぞ本望でございましょう、（木が流れてきて儲かった）材木屋
こういうことが嫌さに、年寄り子供を在所へ預けた人
絵面に詳しく書き付けたり、遠方へ手紙に封じ込める返答
移り変わるは世の習い、地震も納まり（平和が戻る）

Untying one's tasuki sleeves and dashing out — the rumbling shake before noon
"If things get any worse than this" — producing emergency restorative medicine in readiness
"Should a messenger arrive, send word" — a letter dispatched to faraway places
"For your sake, for my sake" — carpenters' helpers (engaged in reconstruction work)
"My, my, I am much obliged" — a person injured by roof tiles falling in the street
"I will do the work of two" — a man suddenly left to run his household alone after the great earthquake
"However firm the promise made" — those who died in the tsunami
【Lower Section】
"Depending on the circumstances, this cannot be ignored" — the great tsunami striking in all directions
"A parent's biased eye may not see clearly" — people who remain in their newly-built homes
"That is the honest truth" — people hearing rumors amid loud voices, wondering if it can be true
"A treasure beyond house or self" — people sending each family member off to flee with their money
"Lost and at a loss, and just at that moment" — relatives from the countryside coming to fetch them
"I cannot make heads or tails of it — what on earth is happening?" — thinking the tsunami had subsided, only to feel another rumble
"Abandoning oneself to pleasures, mind addled with drink" — a son using the excuse of a sympathy visit to go to a brothel
"The finest in Japan, the very model of magnanimity" — a person who won't even go outside, sitting slumped with a smug look
"You must be very well satisfied indeed" — the timber merchant (whose business boomed from all the driftwood)
"It is precisely because of things like this" — those who had already sent their elderly and children to the countryside as a precaution
"Describing the scene in detail and writing it down" — a reply sealed up in a letter sent to distant places
"Change is the way of the world" — the earthquake finally settles, and life returns to normal
