【右丁】
（海坊主に）遭遇したことがあるとのことで、十人のうち九人までは、これはロシアの新しい術（呪法）であると申しております。これに相違はないかと思われます。御役所では、長崎総鎮守・諏訪大明神の悪魔降伏の御祈祷を昼夜行っております。きっと諸家様のところでも同様のことがあることと存じますので、御見計らいの上、御祈祷されることがよろしいかと存じます。

【Right folio】
There have been encounters (with the sea monk/kaibōzu), and nine out of ten people say that this is the result of a new Russian sorcery/technique. We believe this to be very likely the case. At the Magistrate's Office, prayers for the subjugation of evil spirits are being conducted day and night at the Suwa Daimyōjin, the general guardian deity of Nagasaki. We presume that similar occurrences may be taking place at the various domain residences as well, and it would be advisable to conduct your own prayers at your discretion.
