取片付も｜行届（ゆきとどき）不申町々多分ニ
有之死人之義は此上相増
可申哉旦又怪我人の義も親類
縁者亦は近在等え立去り
候者も有之未タ｜調（しらべ）方行届
不申町々も御座候間そ？の？
取調候はゝ是又多分相増

現代語訳
このたびの地震ならびに出火に際し、変死人・怪我人について取り調べましたところ、おおよそ書面のとおりでございます。もっとも、本所・深川をはじめ、家屋の倒壊などがいまだ片付いておらず、行き届いていない町々が多数ございます。死者についてはこれ以上増える可能性がございます。また、怪我人につきましても、親類・縁者あるいは近隣の地域へ立ち去った者もおり、いまだ調査が行き届いていない町々もございますので、それらを調べれば、これまた多数増えるものと存じます。よって、別紙の書上帳を添えて、この段申し上げます。

In regard to the recent earthquake and the fires that broke out, we have conducted an investigation into the deaths and injuries, and the findings are approximately as stated in the accompanying documents. However, it should be noted that in the Honjo and Fukagawa districts and elsewhere, the clearing of collapsed buildings and debris has not yet been completed, and there remain many towns where the investigation has not been fully carried out. It is possible that the number of deaths will increase further. Likewise, regarding the injured, there are those who have left to stay with relatives, family members, or people in nearby areas, and as there are still towns where the investigation is incomplete, we believe that upon completion of those investigations, the numbers will also increase considerably. Therefore, we respectfully submit this report along with the attached register.
