現代語訳
（前頁からの続き）付き添いながら、潮江・比島・小高坂などへ回り、諸人に施しを行い、「このような時世には、飢えと寒さを共にする心構えでいる」と口にしながら、数日間にわたって施しに専念した。その他にも、籾米二十俵・白米二十俵を寸志として差し出した。総じて心がけが援弱（弱者を助けること）に至り、奇特の至りであるとして、御奉行中へ届け出られた。
独礼・御目見御免の上、御町奉行直支配に仰せ付けられた。

(Continued from previous page) Accompanying [relief efforts], he traveled to Ushioe, Hijima, Kohokosa, and other areas, distributing aid to the people, stating openly that "in times such as these, one must share the hardships of hunger and cold with others." He devoted himself solely to providing relief for several days. In addition, he donated twenty bales of unhulled rice and twenty bales of white rice as a personal contribution. It was determined that his overall conduct in aiding the weak was truly admirable, and the matter was reported to the magistrates.
He was granted the privilege of direct attendance (dokurai, o-mie-yurushi) and placed under the direct jurisdiction of the Town Magistrate.
