（但し、質屋の中では都合が悪いため、別名「不自由散」とも申します）

ガタガタと震えるのに妙なる効き目あり

気ばかりながら、強くご挨拶申し上げます。

一、そもそもこの妙ゆり出し崩れの件は、先年、信州にて揺り広め候ところ、大揺れ・大難儀いたし候間、決して他国へ競り揺り・押し揺り一切出さず候ところ、近年、諸国に紛らわしい偽崩れが見受けられ申し候。とりわけ京・大坂・東海道筋を押し揺りし、また江戸表にまで偽崩れを押し揺り仕り、そのうえ火事・木頭（火の見台）を開け、極めて難儀なることにつき、きつと揺り止め申し付け、私方一方揺りにいたし候。もっとも普段とは揺り申さず、当十月限りに揺り子へ申し渡し候間、逃げ出しの宿のお騒ぎなく、ご安心なさいまして、楽々とご夫婦中よく、夜中の揺り出しはご自身にて毎夜二・三服ずつお用いになれば、ご子孫繁盛いたし、のらくらのお子どもたちはいらっしゃらず候間、しっかりとお抱きつきなさいまして、「ああ、もういっそ良い世の中だ」とご評判なさって、お求めくださいますようお願い申し上げます。以上。

Though this is merely high spirits speaking, we address you with great vigor.

One: The origin of this Wondrous Earthquake Remedy — "Kudzure" (Collapse) — is that in previous years it was first "shaken out" in Shinshū Province, causing great trembling and tremendous hardship. We therefore strictly refrained from distributing it by competitive shaking or forceful shaking to other provinces. However, in recent years, confusingly similar counterfeit collapses have appeared throughout the various provinces. In particular, they have been forcefully shaken out along the Kyoto–Osaka corridor and the Tōkaidō road, and counterfeit collapses have even been pushed out as far as Edo. Furthermore, fires have broken out and fire-watchtowers have been opened, causing extreme hardship. We have therefore issued a strict order to halt the shaking, and henceforth our establishment alone shall manage the shaking. Rest assured, we do not shake in the usual manner — we have notified our "shaking agents" that operations will cease at the end of this tenth month. So please do not panic and flee your lodgings, but set your hearts at ease. If husband and wife get along harmoniously and use two or three doses of our night-shaking remedy each night at your own initiative, your descendants shall prosper and you will have no idle, good-for-nothing children. Hold on tight, declare "Ah, what a fine world this has become at last!" — and please do seek out our remedy. That is all.

- Holders of guild privileges (kabu)
- Debt collectors (all types of collectors are to be avoided entirely)
- Various medicinal herbs and ginseng
- Cat's "hen-hen" grass (as well as large and small drums)
- Pulverized earthen warehouse contents — all such things are to be avoided

### Directions for Use

Once every two days, in the evening, shake out powerfully one great time; thereafter, shake gently and repeatedly at intervals. Use without relying on the hands of others — administer by yourself. When decocting, fire safety must be the foremost concern.
