《続き》火事はよく日が経って鎮まったけれど、なおも地震は時々あって、貴賤上下のその人々は、にわか乞食となる者が多く、夜風が身にしみる寒さの中で、野宿をするやら、筵を引いて担いで泣いて明かした。

[Continued] The fires subsided well after many days, but earthquakes still occurred from time to time. People of all social ranks, from noble to commoner, many became sudden beggars. In the cold where the night wind chilled them to the bone, they slept outdoors or pulled along straw mats, carrying them and weeping through the night.
