此異物は諳厄利亜国の貴人 諾（ノ）
尓勿入亜（ルウエシア）国の「ベルゲン」の地の近
海に於てこれを得たり彼地に
おゐてハ尋常時としてある

奇なりとして携へ帰りて国王に

といふ人の記す所なり

この異物は、イングランド（諳厄利亜）国の貴人が、ノルウェー（諾尓勿入亜）国の「ベルゲン」の地の近海において入手したものである。その地においては、時として見られる珍しくない生き物であるという。この生き物はほどなくして死んでしまったが、それでも珍しいものとして持ち帰り、国王に献上したという。これは「オラウス・マグヌス」という人物の記録によるものである。

**Entry Seven**

This strange creature was obtained in the waters near the town of Bergen, in Norway (Noruwegia), by a nobleman from England (Anglia). It is said that in that region, such creatures are sometimes encountered and are not considered entirely unusual. The creature died before long; nevertheless, it was deemed remarkable enough to be brought back, and was presented to the king as a gift. This account is based on the writings of a man called Olaus Magnus.
