人皇嘘八百代、有頂天王の御世に、気味悪大尽が腰を据えて座り、家破台（やばだい）の詩を詠もうとしたが、
句々が混雑してその意味を理解することができなかった。その時、天から一匹の小さな鯰が舞い下がってきて、髭をもって字の行の案内をしたということである。
