また、本山への道のりが非常に遠く、不便が少なくなかったため、二世日晴は事情を本山に詳しく説明し、改めて身延山久遠寺に所属することを願い出て、その許可を得て寺号を長遠寺と改めた。後に慶長年間(今から去る三百余年前)、高遠城主保科肥後守が現在の土地を寄附し、寺をここに移した。時が下って正保年間、十九世日隆の時代になると、本末寺の間で争いが生じて事態が収拾できず、ついに寺号を身延に返還し、再び妙顕寺に所属して、寺号を蓮華寺に(改めた)。

Moreover, because the journey to the head temple was extremely far and quite inconvenient, the second abbot Nicchō presented the circumstances in detail to the head temple and requested to be newly affiliated with Kuonji Temple at Mount Minobu. Having received permission, they changed the temple name to Chōonji. Later, during the Keichō era (some three hundred years ago from now), Hoshina Higo-no-kami, the lord of Takato Castle, donated the present land and moved the temple here. Subsequently, during the Shōhō era in the time of the nineteenth abbot Nichiryu, disputes arose between the head and branch temples that could not be resolved. Eventually, they returned the temple name to Minobu, were again affiliated with Myōkenji, and changed the temple name to Rengeji.
