ヲタルナイ：同じく運上屋一戸、同じく七里余り。
イシカリ ：同じく運上屋一戸、同じく十里余り。
（注記：運上屋は八戸あり、そのうち一戸は鮭のみを取り扱い、七戸は諸品を商う。この地は島中にて大河があり、蝦夷の人々はみなその流れに沿って居住している。その源は東部の地、ナシユウベツの諸山より流れ出て、はるか下り二つの川となる。一つの川は北へ流れてテシホ浜へ注ぐ。これをもってテシホ川と呼ぶ。もう一方は島の中央を西へ流れ、諸山の谷川が合流してイシカリ浜に注ぐ。すなわちこれをイシカリ川と云う。蝦夷の川舟で百里余りは遡ることができるが、その源までの里数は詳しくは知られていない。）

(Note: There are eight trading posts in total; one of them deals exclusively in salmon, while the other seven trade in various goods. In this place, there is a great river within the island, and the Ainu people all live along its banks. Its source lies in the eastern lands, flowing down from the mountains of Nashiyuubetsu, descending far and dividing into two rivers. One river flows northward and empties into Teshio Beach, and is therefore called the Teshio River. The other flows westward through the center of the island, with streams from various mountain valleys joining it, and empties into Ishikari Beach — this is called the Ishikari River. Ainu riverboats can travel upstream for over 100 ri, but the exact distance to its source is not known in detail.)
