（注記・続き：川の左右は広々とした平原の地で、草木が豊かに茂り、その幅もはかり知れない。また流れを遡ってシコツ川に至り、わずかな陸路を隔ててユウブツ川に移り、南に向かえば行程四十里に満たずして東海の浜に出ることができる。総じて四方に便利な地であって、開拓された後には国の府ともなるべき所である。）

(Note continued: To the left and right of the river stretch vast open plains, lush with vegetation, their breadth impossible to measure. Furthermore, traveling upstream and reaching the Shikotsu River, one crosses only a short overland stretch to transfer to the Yuubetsu River, and heading southward, in less than forty ri one arrives at the shore of the eastern sea. Altogether, it is a place of great convenience in all four directions, and after development, it should become a fitting seat of provincial government.)
